Hi all,

Some of you may find you have a spend $50 get $25 back from Cheddar (if you haven't used it in awhile) - 15% cashback at First Choice or 8% at BWS means you can pick up a bottle at around the $50 mark quite cheap. I got a bottle of Mount Difficulty Pinot for $25.15

Be warned it must be $50 AFTER GST is taken off (so around $55).
I received the email, should it show anywhere on the app or does it just automatically apply to a valid purchase?

I made a purchase when the app first came out, nothing tracked but then months later the cashback now shows in my accout - but no sign of the $25 signup bonus so im a bit gunshy of Cheddar

I messaged them after a day and they manually applied the $25. Agreed that it's disconcerting how often they seem to miss offers.

It feels like this has just become a cashback/shopback/cheddar thread in recent months

Are there just not as many deals for actual wine floating around?

There are deals. Such as this one I posted in the last week, which was 50% off the regular price:

But as @Buzzard indicates here Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals, this forum relies upon people such as yourself posting.

Isn't this one of the ways you get the deals? At least I think it is.

Feel free to post any deals you find outside these sources.

I do agree with him to some decree, some people don't rely on deals due to the volatility of some of these 'cashback' practices and the hassle involved. Personally I wish there was a separate thread for these constant cashback notifications.

I thought we were all here to share what might prove to be good value wine in the eyes of others in the community, regardless of the value creation mechanism…..
I didn’t read the original message as a complaint, rather an observation that there seem to be less wine deals being posted

I appreciate this is probably more observation than complaint. The problem is, no matter how good the deal, it can't hurt to throw an extra 2% cashback on top to make it even sweeter. Consequently most will mention cashback to demonstrate the lowest possible price.

If you don't trust cashback sites - who could blame you - don't use them; I personally like it when someone else does all the leg-work to determine how to best stack deals to get to the lowest price.

In truth, as long as I've been here, It's been that way. Most will remember the crazy stacks achieved by buying gift cards, getting six bottle discounts, using coupon codes and applying cashback (e.g. Cellarmasters).

I must say I'm not seeing as many deals around at the moment, cashback or otherwise. And with cashbacks, it seems like there are more frequent 15%/20% cashbacks rather than the 30%/40% ones that used to occur every now and then. Maybe ANZ taking over Cashrewards has something to do with it? Also, it has been a while since Boozebud did a good cashback (early May was their last one). I remember stocking up with some great deals from them. Still the occasional good deal around, but it is getting harder to find.

By the way, has anyone tried the 2012 Wolf Blass Brown Label Shiraz? I see Dans has it for $40 at the moment. Worth it at that price?

I dont think there have been many DM deals since Endeavour took over. Cash Rewards certainly disappeared then.

Rochford Wines are doing some decent discounts on certain packs. Changing each week over the next 5-6 weeks. Good chance over the next little bit to stock up on that gap in the cellar or get some pretty well priced quaffers. Rochford Wines - Yarra Valley

Spotted this while looking to compose a sixer at a Coogee Dan pick up. I have had their Pinot Noir for the same price and found it surprisingly agreeable with a Pizza.
"Four Kings" is their more premium range, as opposed to Four Jacks. And Four Aces is their top range.
