Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I’m still holding on to the last one of my Shadowfax Chardonnays, a wine that blew me away when I had one in a restaurant (I’m usually a red drinker) and was then lucky enough to find some half price via a deal in this forum.

tHEY SAY A GOOD FULL CHARDY IS A RED MANS DRINK !

Quite liked Basedows back in the day (waaaay back), I'd be tempted if I hadn't been buying so much lately... interesting blend too if they've got it right: Grapes Shiraz 86%, Petit Verdot 11%, Cabernet Sauvignon 3%

dON'T KNOW WHERE I SAW IT to be honest, so i put it here, but sieber wines had a real cheapie recently. its a shiraz and i reember having one a couple of years ago and it was serioulsy good, but i don't know what tier in their range it could be. talking about tiers, lets say hello to helen and joey, down the road from the noir chat and thankyou by the way. The inara is rubbish, maybe the worst pinot i have had in my latest pinopolozza. Bought 4 at DM, drank one, returned 3. The worst of anything i have had in six months. But that's the wine game after all. we look for the ethereal at a bargain price. Does it exits? Of course. But i think that's for another forum. 'The ethereal wines we all have had" . I like it. The beauty is there's not that many from all of us punters.

So nice to read someones else's ramblings on here BF, I'm off to the cot (not in great shape at the moment) the forum used to be a much more lively and engaging space than it these days, great to hear about something a little more human and and direct than the latest Amex offer...

Thank you, I have already bought Orphan at Dan, but grabbed both Standishes using points. Particularly thrilled with Schubert Theorem and the bottle is a spectacular looking one.

Was lucky to try all 4 wines side by side, all very good - though preference wise this last vintage was probably Relic > Lamella > Schubert > Standish.

Still can't bring myself to use points on wines!

Laithwaites are notorious for slow delivery

One of my orders took 3 weeks to start to move
Probably because they sell stock they don't have. Good luck!
Well my laithwaites order finally arrived after I messaged them to hurry it up. 9 of 12 bottles were correct, but the 3 heirloom shiraz have somehow turned into 3 black duck durif which will need to be replaced. Not a great effort from them so far...

Tried the 19 Crimes Uprising (red) the other day, which is aged for a while in Rum barrels. What a drop, and neat for the pocket too. But it seems Dan doesn't stock this one, or am I missing something?
