Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I am finding very very hard to spend the Amex/Cracka $99. The Tassie PN was offered to me the same price but with only $20 off $180, not attractive.
Dearth of 6 pack or less bottle at Cracka stops me from firing. ;)
Time to set up a new account and get the $25 referral credit :)

I got the offer for Langtons but don't pay any annual fee for my AMEX.

Yeah I got it too but only have the no annual fee AMEX discovery card which I never use.

Oh well....

97Pt Bicknell FC Chardonnay x 3
Seppelt Drumborg 2013 Pinot x 6

$171 delivered. Exactly $19 a bottle

I must be dreaming.

Innocent bystander Syrah 2014 is excellent. Normally available around $19. If you can get it for significantly less I would say go for it.

+1

Not to be missed at $14.44/bt delivered after referral/AmEx/Cashrewards - I paid $12.58 at The Den - perhaps not quite as good as Winefront's 95pts suggests, but definitely a bargain :)

Yes the most basic research was able to point me towards the "13. CM describing it as "swooshing past" the "12. 96 From him and 97 from JH, I'm expecting greatness, have you tried it?

Also delighted to get my hands on some more of the Seppelt Drumborg 2013 Pinot at a rock bottom price - which is magnificent.

Slight disappointed to find that Langtons had none of the Voyager/Hoddles Creek stock leftover that others on this thread had procured from them recently using this deal.

There's always next time.

Thanks for the update. I will pick a few from the list.
Any suggestions for a decent intro Barolo. Heard so much but a few cheapies turn me off.

Barolo, I've been told, is one of the three Bs (Bordeaux, Burgundy, Barolo) in terms of price.

You could look at Langhe DOC at the cheapy end, or Barbaresco DOCG (it's right next door to Barolo) for something that might be a little cheaper than Barolo.

I picked up some of the Sottimano barbarescos. In terms of what Langtons has: Azelia, Rivetto and Fontanafreddo are some of the cheaper Barolos. Elio Grasso is good, but a bit more expensive.

I actually picked those up at auction, Langtons weren't selling either wines direct at the time.

Winerylane.com.au have $75 off on your first order with the code welcome75. They stock current release Amelia Park, Casteli, Eden Road, Warramunda Estate, and Woods Crampton at 20% off cellar door price.

Am considering this for the new releases of the Amelia Park Shiraz and Cabernet Merlot.. brings them down to $17 per bottle. The Reserve Shiraz and Cabernet would be $34.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'd class the Amelia Park cab merlot as my favourite of all the Vinomofo bargains. Unfortunately I get the error message:
  • Coupon code "welcome75" is not valid.

Hmm the link to their website and the subsequently provided code came from the halliday website mailing list, but I had assumed it would work for all new accounts. Must have been something embedded in new accounts set up that way that makes the code valid.

This is the mailout..

I signed up last week, after receiving the Halliday offer, hoping to take advantage of some Amelia Park purchases. My welcome75 coupon also did not work, despite signing up directly from the referral email. I emailed them about the issue and they haven't bothered replying or correcting the problem to date.

Winery Lane used to be active a couple of years ago, and I was a bit bemused by their business model, which was to sell wines in pairs and not much of a discount, especially when including the shipping cost. They ceased operating for a while and seem to have come back now. Perhaps the original owners sold the business, but clearly they have some work to do.

It's a resurrection!

The original Winery Lane site closed down a few years ago.

But the new one doesn't have the same deep-discount model as the old one, just a standard 20% off 6 or more.

That's weird, I emailed them to say the 20% discount wasn't working on the Amelia Park Shiraz and I had a reply (and fix) within a couple of hours.

The old Winery Lane had some good deals, I bought about 8 dozen bottles total from them during their brief existence, I think they stopped operating in around 2012/2013. They were a copy of a UK/US site, maybe they had legal problems as well a cash flow issues.

Just for clarification in case this helps others, the welcome75 code does require a minimum purchase of 12 bottles (in the fine print on the offer). I first tried to grab a 6, but when the code didn't work I only then looked at the fine print. Update to 12 and it works fine.
