Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I'm going to cruise past my local BWS on the way home. If the first hasn't got any I might ask them to ring the store a k up the road.

the first BWS called around the others for me - saves a lot of driving

The Mount Pleasant Philip Shiraz is $16/$12 at my local BWS (only one of the three shops keep it), none in stock but the next shipment is due in 7 days.

They couldn't tell me if it was the '13 or '14 coming in or what they had last though.

$12 - due to the BWS 25% off any 6 promo - is probably as cheap as it's going to generally be (Dr Ralph's under $10 find being an outlier) :)

Wow - that's good service :)

hello!

I've recently grabbed a couple of three packs of Meshach from Langton's & i don't need them all, i just wanted to try a couple of vintages. A few bottles are up for grabs if anyone is interested (2001 & 2006). I've popped the details on the share a case page...posting here as well as that thread doesn't seem to get too many views. (Hopefully i'm not breaking the rules doing this!)

Thanks!

Well there was no Philip at my local. Lovely lass checked on her computer, even Dans stores and there appears to be zero in SA.

Tried on Unley Rd also - no dice - and clearance wines where pasta red's only unfortunately - good luck finding some

Saw this pop up last night on OzBargain and appeared to be a pretty good deal from WD.

I got some 2010 Pertaringa The Yeoman Shiraz at auction and it was stunning, I'm hoping the 2014 vintage is just as good, although were I a gambling man (and sort of am), I'd say it probably needs a bit of cellaring before it will hit its straps. I have had both of the Handpicked Shiraz in the pack before and will gratefully drink them again. Don't know why WD has gone back to the 2013 Centurion, but I'm not complaining, I'd be even happier if it were the 2012!

Just had the Get Wines Direct flyer for a 2010 Cab Shiraz cleanskin down from $104 to $13.99 and after perusing the CWSA 2015 awards can't see anything that matches (apparently it won Gold) The pice might well be over-inflated but just wondered whether anyone else is curious or has a clue? https://www.getwinesdirect.com/prod...-plate&utm_campaign=12-09-16-afternoon[/QUOTE]

This was mentioned up thread ?

A rumour around that it is 1847 Stowaway - whatever that is. I think this one for the more clever AFFers here.

Edit to add info

Thanks Steady, just jumped into the thread little realising it was up for dissection, can't look at The Australian link not being a subscriber unfortunately but the other link certainly confirms it for me, strangely listed as 1837 not 1847, but the point is whether it's worth $13.99 presumably yes ;) ?

I am still confused - it is 1837 or 1847? And how would you know what it is worth? If is just a notch below St Hugo then $13.99 would be a steal would it not?

I think it is 1837 as per jasonkings link - the GWD link refers to a super premium "Established" 1847 Cab

(but only my guess...;) )

I just ordered 10. Why? $400 gift card for $200 (50% off), ordering over 6 (so further 20% off), means I've got 10 $50 age-worthy MR Cabs that will always delight over the years to come. And $9 delivery on top is just fine too. Possibly one of the best $209 I've spent in a while.

I was just looking on the Winery Lane site to see if there is any way to track my order and I noticed we now have $55 age-worthy MR Cabs or Shiraz - the price has risen to $55 or $44 in a 6 bottle buy :)
