Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Hopefully one day I'll get around in trying most of the wines out there...then again maybe not..lol
has anybody tried this one?
The dude can really make great wine, but I haven't given this a try. I like the link to the Chinese Decanter for a bit of extra reading. His review was good.

Looking at the descriptions, I would suggest that THIS $20/$7.50 is the same as THIS $20/13

I agree, this is from wine-searcher;

Wine Notes
Indicative blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Shiraz

  • This is the third highest-priced wine produced from Cabernet - Syrah - Tempranillo in South Australia. The price has been stable over the past year.
  • Not as widely known as other wines from South Australia. The popularity of this wine has increased considerably over the past year.

The Geoff Hardy GMH Family Selection Blend is a Shiraz (59%) Merlot (33%) Cabernet (8%) confirmed when calling broker

Strange that wine-searcher has it so wrong (I will go back and see if I made a mistake entering the wine as I guess that's more likely.... )

If you are talking about a get wines direct product, hmmmm is all I would hmmmmmm.

Yes not dissimilar to WBW and their batch of so-so products (made for them), but this is from a 'reputable' maker, BF I don't know, I've missed the boat (The Solway) and it's gone up to $16.99 now so sod it....

Recently I have Jacob's Creek Reserve Barossa Signature Shiraz Cabernet 2014 which is a stunner.
The Solway from the same stable should likewise. Does that perk you up? ;)

Read above! :)

This is not a GWD product but a JCreek cleanskin.
I do however like their Colonial Mungo Park shiraz. Just ignore their rrp, not available elsewhere anyway.

I've bought quite a bit of gear from GWD over the years and mostly it's been up to scratch especially if you know (and see) what you're looking for but now it's gone up in price I'm probaly out of the race anyway

In regard to the Geoff Hardy I got some in a mixed case from WBW a month or so ago and wasn't exactly stopped dead in my tracks by it, not terrible just not noteworthy, $7.50 is a very reasonable price.....if I wanted to drink it

Dan's has punt road napoleone pinot noir 2015 for $22.90 in a mixed half dozen. Although it doesn't represent much of a discount from their previous price, for this quality, it is a bargain.

I have had some, it is actually pretty good. Most likely the best bottle I have had for under $10 ever IMHO

Agree - got a box from the source and have downed a few. Let it sit for an hour and it's a damn good quaff for the $$$
