Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Don't really need more wine but Langton's offer was too good to pass. My pick:

Halliday red mix dozen $270 (last year's mix):
3X Wynns Black Label Cab Sav 2014 (96 points).
3X Spinifex Esprit 2013 (96 points).
3X Hairloom Barossa Shiraz 2014 (95 points).
3X Hare's Chase Ironscraper Shiraz 2013 (94 points).

To get over the line I've added two 97 points Pinots:
1X Tolpuddle 2015 $68
1X Dawson & James 2014 $65

Total $403 - $200 = $203 or $14.5 per bottle.

Hey boomy,

Taking part in the langtons offer this year and trying some new wines, doing a search I cant seem to find these two, any other recommendations?

3X Spinifex Esprit 2013 (96 points).
3X Hairloom Barossa Shiraz 2014 (95 points).

There are more wines available through a broker than listed on the website. When you call you can ask about specific wines and may get lucky

Vickery Eden Valley Riesling 2016 $16/bt @ Wine Direct with WHITEXMAS - ends tomorrow
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278508

also [post=1549207]20% off @ Winestreet with BLACKFRIDAY ends tomorrow eg. Ashton Hills Reserve Pinot Noir 2014 $57.60[/post]

I found the Vickery was a nice enough wine, but it didn't wow me. For my money, I'd pay a few bucks more ($20 / bottle w/ discount) for the Heirloom Eden Valley Riesling 2013 which is still the best Riesling I've had around this price range. At the very least, add a couple to your mixes if you haven't tried it before.

So the franklin river Shiraz arrived, is not the Thomas Yule but was still a Houghton however I know little of this one, how do I post a photo with a I phone so I can post a pic.

Yes ac it is the Gladstones Shiraz can't find much info on it, I was hoping it was the Yule.

Thanks for confirmation. As mentioned in my previous reply the 2011 Gladstones Shiraz was an export label. There's some speculation that it's the same batch as the Yule but no confirmation. I doubt you'd get domestic Yule for that price :)
If you don't mind checking, can you see on the bottle label whether it has any 'imported by' info? Maybe it's gone overseas and come back, or maybe it never left the country. If the latter it's possibly a great deal.
Might have to place a phone call to Houghton to confirm the status of this wine.

Mount Mary is something I have long wanted to try and this seems like a good opportunity - but online I have read very mixed reviews. Does anyone have a view based on experience? Which Quintet is better, 13 or 14?
