Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

If anyone is interested in First Choice BOGOF in Adelaide I can give a bit of an update from my travels on the weekend

Unley - not much to speak of.

Collinswood - Some good stuff. The had Bollinger vintage on the 2 for 1 deal but unfortunately sold out and won't be getting more. They also had Aras champagne ($75?) and Wynns Michael shiraz ($110 before discount). I picked up some Ata Rangi pinot ($75), devils lair cabernet, peter lehmann eden valley riesling and Clonakilla Jack Reidy shiraz.

Hindmarsh - most of the same cheaper stuff that the others had but I managed to pick up some Pol Roger 2008 Vintage Champagne ($112 before discounts). I used the $10 wine voucher from my first purchase, plus Amex of course.

Stock levels were low on some of the better 2 for 1s.

I'm a bit confused with BOGOF offer.

I take it that it's in-store only, and seems to randomly apply to certain bottles across stores, with no rhyme nor reason?

Has anyone in Perth taken advantage of the offer? Or, even better, been to the Bentley store (my closest), to see if anything is worth it in stock?

Yes it is in store only. From the 3 stores I visited there were a lot of usual suspects that were discounted at all stores. Most of these were lower end wines. Individual stores may also have there own selections on offer. They usually have a section with yellow balloons and signs where they have the bulk of the 2 for 1 offers. They also have other offers scattered around the store, easily identifiable by yellow tags. You really need to walk around the whole store looking for yellow tags to see the full extent of what they have on offer.

Thanks mate.

Thanks mate.

Not much of note at Sylvania over the weekend. Picked up some Lerida Shiraz viognier 2011 $43 for 2 plus Amex discounts as well as some croser NV for upcoming BBQ at 16.15 per bot plus Amex discounts. Mostly low end items, no champagne 2-4-1 and only one lonely clonakilla SV on the shelf, but no discount ticket, since I already have 3 in the wine fridge (thanks langtons!) I couldn't be bothered to get them to open the cabinet and double check for me if it actually was on special.

Needed some rose, so used my club secure $50 off at cellarmasters to pick up some turkey flat, after discounts just over $10/bot, not bad...also couldn't go past Moet for $31/bot this morning with cellarmasters too...

You can use the 25off on beer and cider in the cellarmasters deal. Just got a couple of cases of barossa Co cider for around $40 each after CR

All 3 stores in Canberra are gone unless you're interested in sub-$20 BOGOF's...and 4 bottles of Arras Gtand Vintage 2007 in Braddon.

Thanks for saving me a trip. I've been on crutches the past few days, otherwise I would have checked out Belco.

Couldn't really imagine Clonakilla on sale in Canberra.

Had a good chat with him this morning and made my purchases:

So after $150 Amex credit, $308.50 for 14 bottles or $22 bottle - or another way to look at it, 2 Tolpuddles for free and the remaining 12 bottles @ $25.70 each.
Email received yesterday from Langtons:

Good News! Your Langton's shipping order xx_ has been picked, packed and will be leaving the Langton's warehouse shortly!

Now anywhere from 2 to 10 days - what has been the experience from others here (particularly BNE based members, as I am).

The most exciting part of the whole process - checking my Amex:

I'm based in Canberra, but my last seven orders (-$1,050.00 :-) have gone very smoothly. Wine deliveries from everywhere have been pretty slow during the lead-up to Christmas, though. My latest Epiqure order (+15,000 pts :-) took more than a week to arrive after confirmation.

QF WP, Last Langtons delivery I had was shipped to Brissy on a Monday, arrived Friday (back in November). Probably a bit longer for Xmas period. I have left a couple of bottles down there which I'll ship in New Year.
