Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Awesome buy. High on my buy list. According to Kim Brebach (bestwines under 20), this and most 2016 SA rieslings are sensational.

What are they doing drinking 2016 SA Rieslings now!!!!!! Blasphemy!!! Joking of course, but one of my passions is to age Clare Rieslings, over 500 in the cellar now.

Been getting lots of good offers from Langtons and Cracka over the holidays - but no time or $ to buy any. The Hares Chase Ironscraper 2013 for $25 looked very good...:( :(

Okay, I weakened and got 6....want to taste what other here have been waxing lyrical...

I doubt you'll be disappointed. It's a very nice wine, and great buying at $25 a bottle.

I'll be cracking the first bottle tonight - will report back :D

My report is here: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....wines-i-have-drunk-53868-174.html#post1567273

Adding First Choice to my blacklist for wine purchasing online.

Not only did they send the wrong vintage (2 years out), but it also changed region in that time.

Support basically said "tough luck, try a store", which defeats the point of online buying.

Tough luck indeed - no more wine money for First Choice!

So now I've got two majors covered - Dan Murphys (Woolworths) and First Choice (Wesfarmers)!

Dan Murphy's pulled the same on me a few months ago. Refused to even refund the difference between the one they sent and the one I ordered.

So,if paid by cc initiate a chargeback.

I had trouble with them as well. Put an order in online. Showed up error on check out. Credit card charged but no receipt or invoice. Took a while to sort out.

Can you explain more please burmans? Thanks.
Marius wines are made by Roger Pike, truly one of the great characters of Australian winemaking, I got onto his wines early on a recommendation of our very own RedBigot and onto his email list. These days very little of his wine ever hits the shops, I'm only aware of a couple of places as he sells the vast majority to his email list. The direct prices are the best you'll find but hard to get on his list.

Currently on a '12-18 month' wait. Did manage to pick up some of the 2014 vintage on Langton's, although you don't see much of it on there.

Will crack one when I make it on the list I think!

Would you guys grab a twin pack of Penfolds 389 & 407 for $100? (I got a $50 cellarmasters voucher)...nothing else on the website catches my eye.
Looking to cellar for a long time.
Without any hesitation.

Hmm
Just revisiting this, did anybody else buy this at this time with cashrewards ? Checked my cashrewards and the sales tracked as a $272 sale instead of $150 and I got $21.81 cash back - which as been approved for all my purchases
So each bottle ended up being ~$39

You've done well :)

Cash rewards often tracks both Dan Murphys and Cellarmasters purchases at the original price of items, rather than the price you actually pay.

I know it's only an extra $10 off or so, but if I had know that was going to happen I would of bought a lot more than I did!...I guess it's the mental $40 barrier being broken for a bin 389/407

Just checked my cashrewards. The sales was tracked as $136.36 with $10.91 cash back. I'm still happy with the buy. Purchased 3 twin packs.

Swings and roundabouts... It makes up for the time CR/PP "lose" the transaction or track the wrong amount and you need to waste hours writing to them.

That's crazy that you would just put up with that! (Unless you didn't.)

That for me would be a complaint to consumer protection and a CC charge back. Half the time you'd probably end up getting your money back, the right bottles and keeping the old ones!
