Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Offer closed! WTF!!

Purchased my wine last weekend and went to make the claim today (after earlier trying to make a claim unsuccessfully because their website wasn't working properly) only to find that the offer has closed early. Was supposed to be open until July 6.
Apparently the demand was so large they sold out, closing the offer early.

Sux I know, but I did read in the offer words to the effect of whilst stock lasts.
Even though I did lodge a claim, I always wince at such offers.

Problem is that they've breached the law by engaging in bait advertising under section 35 of the Australian Consumer Law. By ending the offer 5 days early, knowing that their website had problems preventing people lodging a claim, it is apparent that they never intended to fulfill sufficient orders. I intend to pursue the mater and litigate if necessary. As a share holder of Treasury Wines I will also be raising the matter at the highest levels if they fail to supply my bottle.

I totally agree Dr Ralph, there were even problems with people having trouble entering some barcodes, for example Blass Yellow Label.
You will have to keep us posted as to how you get on.

Big week for red wines for me so my cardiologist will be pleased. First I received 3 Hill Of Grace into my work place and then ordered 6 Silver Oak Cab Sav from San Diego Wine Co. Including insurance ,taxes and delivery the Silver Oak came to $376 U.S. and moving it about 100 miles was quite reasonable.
I had thought it would cost about $600 to $700 for the six pack but my Californian adviser told me where to order it from.

The DM's Red Knott quaffers caught my eye this week, so I got one of the Shiraz and one of the Cab Sav, $10.90 in a six, to try - will let you know how they go. I also picked up a Hentley Farm The Marl Shiraz 2013 that I've been wanting to try for a couple of months - $22.

Opened the Red Knott Shiraz last night, better than their Cab Sav, and an okay $10 wine, but I'd much rather get one bottle of The Marl than two bottles of the Red Knott.

The Metala's been a favourite quaffer of mine for years - always been bloody good value!

I went to grab a bottle of the Metala Shiraz Cab this morning, but our local DMs was temporarily out of stock, so not wanting to leave empty handed I went for the Metala 2009 Cab Shiraz Malbec for $19.

Rugby, if you are after some decent quaffers I can recommend the Cellarmasters Mystery Mix. Last week mine arrived and included 3 Krondorf Growers Blend Scalzi and Schwarz which was very decent. I could check the rest if you were interested. At a case price after coupons and discounts which came to $54 I was very pleased. I did use a $50 off coupon on Pricepal which has expired, but they do have a $25 coupon today. Of-course, if you also used your e-gift card from WOW via NRMA that would mean another 5% off besides Pricepals 5.5% off.

edit: I mention the Krondorf as an example that is for me a better quaffer than the $10 wine you mentioned.

Thanks Prozac, just thinkering at the moment, not looking to stock up too much. I'll add Krondorf Shiraz to my sampling list. Let me know how the others go - always looking to add to my list. :)

Rugby, after downing a few oysters bought from the boatshed by the bridge at Narooma on my recent bike trip I have opened another from the Cellarmasters mystery case, a The Gallows Cab Sav Merlot 2013. An OK quaffer for the RRP $16.99 but not bad at all for the $4.50 price paid. ;)

3x Wynns Black Label 2008 Cab and 3x Leconfield 2009 Cab for $150 is enticing. Had the 2008 Wynns Black which was a great drop indeed, haven't had the 2009 Leconfield but the 2010 and 2012 are certainly decent.

I think its just fair value, given that these wines were under $20 at release and the current releases can be had for under $25.

They are both good wines, which I have enjoyed, though. And are likely to continue to cellar well.

Email this morning apologising for the problems and confirming my bottle is on its way.

Seems being a lawyer comes in handy some times :)

Just hope the bottle isn't delivered immediately as I'm not back from overseas until the end of the week.

It's good value, and we'd be purchasing if we didn't already have a stash of both.
