Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Snoozed on this last night and it's now sold out this morning. Damn it!
I wouldn't worry too much, it will be back on sale in the next few months. Or if they really have sold out then the 2018 edition will be a similar price. It's a nice enough wine but I only see it as a $25-$30 wine given that has been the going rate on Cellarone for 5+ years.

Yeah I'm only annoyed that I have a bunch of gifts I have to give out soon and this would have been perfect. It's not a style I drink a lot of so only buy in these circumstances.

Vanguardist back in stock - just over a dozen available - likely to sell out again within the next hour or so

I recieved the email but did you actually see the 2019 showing as in stock on their website. I was pretty quick and it was sold out. Suspect the email was just to drive traffic to the site and sell the 2018 Grenache and 2017 Chardonnay.

Whats wrong with the 2018 Grenache? It scored merely 1.5 points less than 2019. Is there such a big difference between both vintages? I got both but didn’t try any yet.

They had some average whites (and a couple of reds?) that when bought in a halfdozen the pricing would drop to $10 for the lot upon checkout. I had no interest (read: envy) because am in Qld where they dont sell liquor.

picked up the mystery chardonnay from MWG - its the Handpicked Collection Mornington peninsula - $33 each - beautiful Chardy, great depth of stone fruit flavours with balance - malolactic acid and french oak. was a good pick up!

Was there a sharp shooter on here who just scooped 4 bottles of Cullen for $70? Been eyeing those for a price drop, but damn people are quick!

Darn I was eyeing them off too. Give them a call to see if they have the fifth bottle left. They definitely had 5 in store with an old price tag earlier in the week.

If anyone is interested: my two Amex cards (Qantas Ultimate and Platinum Charge) both have offers for Lathwaite's - spend $150 get $50 back.
Bought two $150 Laithwaite's gift vouchers and stacked them to get 3x Cullen Diana Madeline 2018, plus 9 cheapish whites for summer (to make up a case of 12). Taking into account the Amex credits, the Cullen bottles come to $95 each - pretty good!
