Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I don't like Amazon. It's not as easy as eBay to return what you purchase. Base on the Amazon selling strategy, it only sells the popular item, and aim to get the minimum days of item stored in the warehouse. It may not cover a broader variety of wine.

I've never returned anything on eBay and speaking of a data point of one for Amazon, but it couldn't have been easier to return an item. A few clicks online. Then go to one of their many drop-off points (local pharmac_ for me). They took the item, scanned a bar code in an email I had from Amazon and that was it. I didn't even need to package the item. I'm intrigued how eBay can make it simpler?

I'm with you. It will be interesting to see what they do with wine given they have kind of failed to takeoff in Australia so far.

Would much rather buy direct or support a local retailer than put money into Jeff Bezos' pocket. I don't like the cut of his jib.
Quite a number of the listings I looked at were from Get Wines Direct and BoozeBud, probably some other regular suppliers just selling in the Amazon Marketplace.

There are couples times, the seller sent item from international, I waited more than 3 months. Seller doesn't reply my question. Don't refund. tried to complaint, but amazon redirect me to another product I purchased. when item ships from international, you need to wait 60 or 90 days before you claim not receiving.

Can anyone who has used cashrewards with dan murphys confirm how much is refunded - 12% off the actual price vs 12% off the rrp price?

I know they stopped the 12% off loophole with shopback, but just wondering if they did the same with CR...

I just made a purchase. It tracked at 3.5% of the actual price. It should have been 12%. This is going to be annoying I suspect.

Just to add in to the Vintage Cellars talk, stopped by the Newtown (Sydney) store today and they still had a few decent offers

I picked up:
Wolf Blass platinum $83
Henriot champagne $49
Spinifex la maline $39
Seppelt Drumbourg Pinot Meunier $19
Howard Park Mt Barker Riesling $9

Decent offers on spirits available also

Just wondering, was there any of the WB or Spinifex left after your plundering? I know i'm being lazy but its looking a bit wet for a fruitless pop-in!

Did you all buy it from the products listed under the affiliate link?

the selected wines @ Dan's and member offers links which I gave earlier were both to https://www.danmurphys.com.au/list/exclusive-wine-offer as per the Triple cash back on 1000+ wines, champagne & sparkling offer

Any good deals on the burgs from any of the three sites @qaz? Am definitely a beginner here but would like to begin building up a collection.

sorry, can't be much help myself as I'm actually a burgundy beginner as well, only in the past year or so starting to buy a few bottles of mainly good vintages - whites being chablis, such as Montee De Tonnerre Premier Cru (2017 Servin), Les Clos Grand Cru (2014 Moutard-Diligent, 2017 Christian Moreau), with reds including Bourgogne Rouge (2015 Heresztyn-Mazzini, Lucien Muzard), Gevrey-Chambertin Villages (2010 Marchand & Burch, 2015 Heresztyn-Mazzini), Mercurey Clos du Roy Premier Cru (2016 Faiveley)

Would anyone know what this one is?

Think I worked it out. I would say it is the 2018 GIBSON "THE DIRTMAN" SHIRAZ. Ive always found the Gibson very good wines, but I was hoping this one might have been the Ironscraper 2018... waiting for it to drop somewhere.

2018 Dirtman seems to be getting some very good feedback though.

Love Gibson Dirtman. How confident are you with the match?
