Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

@paddywide @BDorrington @Timratoo

It took me 2 phone calls (yesterday and today). Yesterday they set up a support ticket and said they will look into it and today I called again as they didn't call me back as promised.

I used my address and the address I set up in Vic 3187 and loaded up my cart and made them to have a look at my account and my cart and switch the address from Sydney to Vic 3187.

From what I understood speaking to several people there is that they CANNOT have different prices for the delivery to different addresses in Au for Members - stores apparently can.

That said for my plan B I have set up a parcel collect address in Brighton East on My Post app, and was going to send it there and redirect it to my address in Sydney.
That is interesting. I frequently see things that can be delivered to Syd or Melb but then come up.as undeliverable with standard delivery to ACT... I wonder if it's worth a call. How good is this wine?

10% off $85+ spend at BWS using code psq-3yi-r4p

Credit to Ozbargain.

There was a BWS near me that had 6 Elieen Hardy Chardonnays on clearance at $45/bottle, after discount for the six pack and using the code and discounted gift cards it came down to $207.79 for the six pack or $34.64/bottle, so pretty happy with that.

If it is unavailable for the delivery to ACT, I don't think there is a lot that you can do. I am yet to try to redirect DM deliveries using Australia Post My Post app to circumvent big price discrepancies and availabilities between different states/postcodes.

In my case, it was available for the delivery to my address. It was showing up as a "Member offer" at $62.90. Yet it was showing at $14.88 for the delivery to East Brighton Vic (credit to @kevviek ). DM themselves said that is incorrect and the price for the delivery should be the same Au wide.

As how good is this wine - hopefully I will get it next week and will try it and let your know. I have had it before and vaguely recall that it was very good.

At under $15 it was good enough for me to go back twice, very drinkable now so I'd say a better deal than the recent Blackwell debacle. They are selling the 2011-13 as a cellar release at the winery for $85.

I picked some up last time around it was floating around at Dan's. I've tried a bottle, and was interested in your thoughts about whether it still needs a bit more time laying down or did i not decant it for long enough!!

I’ve made afew BWS purchases from Shopasave app in recent months, as 5% cashback sometimes best offer at time, which have all tracked except one. But none of them have progressed to payable, dating back to late Sept. And customer service non-responsive. Anyone else used/had issues?

Maximum discount $100. Today only.
Not much in the way of wine though Moet and Chandon for $48 after discount isn't bad. Haven't looked into stacking with other deals.

All good - comes up as available for delivery to sister-in-law in Lilyfield at $62.90. So will get it sent there for $14.88!

Not Hanisch.
Likely Bethany GR Reserve under cork.
First offered back in September
You are right! Thanks for the correction.
I wish it was Hanisch.
Interestingly, when I search the 95 point, Barossa and $125 only Hanisch shows up.
But when I search Bethany it shows the same rating too (interestingly, it shows region as various).
Correct wording as magic of the vintage.

I just opened another one. It was corked. Not sure what Dan's policy is there...

I can't get it to show up for less than $62. Can you share the link you're using?
I called them to get them to send to Sydney at the price match for Brighton East. Had to be put through to a manager who in the end would not match and said the price is $62 across Australia except for that one area because the local store there is delivering and it’s clearance. Obviously just an excuse to get rid of me and complained that surely a delivery only offer can’t change in price but no luck. Let me know if anyone get’s an alternative outcome

The Halliday site has had since inception a basic data flaw in that "Region" is "Winery Region" (which is often Various or different to the Region of some of the wines they produce) and they have no other data item recorded for the Region of the actual wine. Makes searching treacherous, as you just found out.

nice - 2017 @ Cellar One

Thanks very much for this tip. I have called up Dan Murphy and they told me that the price for the members specials delivery should be the same Australia wide (Apparently prices in the stores may vary).

It took me a while to explain, loading up my cart with the wine and different addresses producing different prices etc,

The long and the short of it, she did override the price from $62.90 to $14.88 and I managed to get 2 cases of it.
perhaps one of the Dan's AFFers can clarify/confirm, but that's news to me, else could've made $10 clearance shopping easier last year - afaik all normal prices and members offers are nationwide save some state specials, but clearances are store specific and delivery based upon the closest one - though of course as you discovered, call centre staff can override (and have done so for me)
