I thought that 2017 vintage was exceptional, 2018 wasn't to my liking and 2019 received 96 points from James Halliday.

Whilst I never pay much attention to Halliday's review when it comes to full bodied Barossa shiraz, the review sounded like it is at least as good as 2017 if not better "”If it follows in the footsteps of the '16, it was crushed and destemmed, 10 days on skins, and 14 months in oak (30% new). It brings the energy, focus and finesse of '17 into high relief, making this a joy to taste.” James Halliday - 96.

Could not resist grabbing a sixer at that price.

This 2019 review does two things. Firstly it gives you immense confidence in the 6pack buy. Secondly I am sure it invokes and rekindles the excitement of a first date scenario from years gone by. This time however you are going out with the younger sister or brother and the memory still lingers. I for one look forward to your review after you knock down the first. Sometimes the bar is set too high with previous vintages but this review does show some genuine insight. I hope it delivers nicely.

Penfolds Max's anything is too dear at $5.
I picked up a Paxton organic Red Blend 2016 for a fiver two weeks ago and it was beautiful. Much better that two expensive Fo returns in the 1838 and WA Cab.
Sometimes price paid and quality are not synonymous.

On Max's Shiraz I agree. I bought a dozen at $10 ea some time ago and luckily was able to flip them on Langton's for a tiny profit after tasting one. I don't have an opinion on the Chardonnay but my wife doesn't mind it so for $60/dozen it should keep her happy for a while
