I love the terrace outside those windows. Is there any view from it?Window guy showed up for about 20mins today
So, which battles did you win?
Neighbours pool . Upstairs has the city view but currently have to stand on tip toes to see it due to privacy screen. Privacy screen has to be replaced after handover as council basically forced us to create a ladder from the inside for toddler fingers/toes to climb and then plummet 8mtrs to their death. Insanity but they refused to listen. Council wouldnt even let us change the direction of the slats to vertical instead of horizontal)I love the terrace outside those windows. Is there any view from it?
some sort of water feature would be nice to be included in the downstairs privacy arrangement to create white noise to maybe help drown out ambient noise while relaxing on that terrace?Landscaping will inc screening plants and screens along fence for increased privacy for both us and neighbours
Scottish dog walker gossip and neighbour up the road (Mark), the one with the $42K asbestos bill he tried to get neighbour Jane to pay for and the live wires going through their scaffolding update. Site still shut down.
Neighbour up the road (Mark) has engaged a new builder. New Builder knocked on the door of the house next door (Jane), telling Jane that they are aware that Jane phoned WorkCover and they were the new builder and I dont know the exact words but Jane felt threatened by new builder, if she was to make any other calls to council or WorkCover. For me, this would be a "challenge accepted" moment..... I would up my home insurance just in case and then make it my new part time job to find real reason to complain. Scottish dog walker says the other neighbours are complaining about the port a loo smell as it hasnt been cleaned in over a month and old builder not paying the bills and no idea about new builder.
New Builder also advised Jane that they were going to install a private power pole on Janes property for Janes lines and Jane is going to pay for it. Hahhahahahah. Jane is under no obligation to pay for it. In fact, they cant install without her permission or its trespassing and she can call the cops.
We did similar with mum in law's wires that was crossing low over our driveway. We installed private pole on mum in laws corner and raised lines. No issue for trucks going under or cranes, cost us about $1600 but that was mates rates as hubby was in the electrical grid industry for 38yrs.
In the meantime, on our site, I will have to chase our SS again on Monday about stacker door fix as thats the only holdup at the moment Door is locking so Im getting to the point of saying put it on the warranty list and lets move forward so will see what next week brings.

Yes, very expensive, which is why private pole is a good option but be a good neighbour and talk to them and offer to pay for it. $2-$2.5K and it benefits you to have it done and the neighbour not paying for it. There is a house a couple of streets away from us that we wonder why they didnt do this because the wires crossing their property are really low and intrusive but they did manage to get the house built but had to pay for tiger tails. Considering the cost of installing/removing tiger tails, just do the private power pole option...... Our neighbour across the road started the massive build about three months ago. They had to have the pole moved for their purposes. Cost $25k to move it three feet.
I havent spoken to Jane but when Mark knocked on her door demanding she pay the $42K asbestos bill because her (then alive/since deceased) father sold him the house (Jane never owned Mark's house), she laughed and told him to get lost. What sort of person is Jane? Quiet/could be intimidated or more from the Denali mould?
This sounds like the makings of a novel..I havent spoken to Jane but when Mark knocked on her door demanding she pay the $42K asbestos bill because her (then alive/since deceased) father sold him the house (Jane never owned Mark's house), she laughed and told him to get lost.
So Im hoping similar for the new builders demand that she pay for the private pole that Mark needs to get his home built. Im all for not liking your neighbours BUT having a peaceful balance of mutually ignoring each other so you can both live in peace. Mark went about this the wrong way. We have gifted hampers (3mths milestone and Christmas) to our neighbours as a thank you during our build. Im not a fan of the one on the RHS at all but we live peacefully.
Plus I think the Scottish dog walker would have riled her or the other neighbours up if she did accept Marks BS. I think Mr Denali went to school with her so will have to ask him when was the last time he spoke to her

Kind of like the creepy neighbour who appears at upper level windows in his undies. And Mr Denali as well
the plot thickens…Speaking of detective Denali... weird unannounced visitor at MILs today but he was looking at our build from the side. Mr Denali called out to them as they stood in MILs front yard but they walked out. Mr and has since adjusted two cameras for just in case.

Two guys were arrested in Adelaide overnight for entering a new duplex build and flogging the copper pipes. A neighbour heard them and called police. That guy deserves a reward.Speaking of detective Denali... weird unannounced visitor at MILs today but he was looking at our build from the side. Keep it coming !!Dodgy build up the road update and Jane agreed for a private power pole on her property (to be honest, it benefits her) but Mark had to pay for it . Crew currently on site installing pole so Im guessing the Grade 2 sparkies will be here soon to cross the wires over.
Meanwhile Im still waiting for our window frame fix but no date from my SS so this is delaying inspections to move to practical completion
And my treat depression with shopping continues..... so. much. shopping!
