Denali Demo and Rebuild

More frame delivered and today it's the trusses. Our framers are working on another job but told they'll be back by end of the week because with the frames comes a ten day window for a crane to move them from the ground to the roof as part of the delivery so interesting to know. Interesting to see a good old fashion rigger, complete with whistle - havent seen one of those in ages.

Our SS was on site as well. We hope to get on the slab next week.

Did not expect so much to get done today. Questioning why we put a window up on the side and why so big but its there now and will cost more to remove so leaving it. Also surprised by how large the top of the stairs/landing is - hubby has dreams of a baby grand and Im here to crush those dreams. Tradies were saying the view from up top was very impressive and I then had to explain the ()$*#()$$(( stupid privacy screen we have to install until we can fight it with council later on. Choose my battles for now.

Traffic management and the crane showed up early this morning and moved the trusses for the chippies. Told they'll be back tomorrow. Wondering when our windows will be arriving as I'm told bricks will be later this week.

Today the carpenters were back to work on the roof trusses and assisted with the delivery of the cement, which came over the front fence. Also had a site clean up with a bobcat.

Frame still not finished so fingers crossed they come back tomorrow as bricks are due for delivery soon.

Fingers crossed it'll keep going this way, we hope for a milestone per month so June will be brickwork. Bricks hopefully arrive next week - was suppose to be this week but the windows are delayed (tomorrow we're told).

We've also had some contact from our solar panel supplier asking if we want to install batteries inside the garage, which is where we thought they were going to go anyway. We have a extra long and wide garage so not a problem.

I do worry that the stupid NBN box is going to trip us over because the cabling for it is run to the side of the house/next to the meter box but the NBN is suppose to be on the opposite side of the house/next to the smart hub so Im just waiting for that to become an issue. I did raise it with my SS but he said its all good or I didnt explain myself properly.

If Grand Designs is anything to go by Denali plans to be in by Christmas. She just doesn’t know which one. 🤣
They need to run out of money, someone gets injured, record bad weather, ruptured old street pipe works and a council intervention - not one of these but all of these - before it comes close to Grand Designs.

Sadly our windows are delayed until 1st June due to glass supply but cant complain about our site supervisor advising us quickly.
Hubby got a walk through today and I told him to not go on the ladder so what does he do....

This is our stairwell, which to the right has a full height door frame for under stair storage.

Our brickie also visited to check our site, hes eager to start once the windows are in.
