SS visited yesterday and said chippies will be on site next week and today we got an email, advising bricks should be delivered May 24th.

Poor neighbour across the road, different builder, still no slab.

Good progress on your build. You mentioned that you have an instagram account to keep track of the progress. Are you able to share it? I’ll be doing a bulls next year so keen to follow your progress and learn new things.

At this stage I'm wondering if the concreters are not paying their suppliers because the formwork has been in place for over 2 weeks now or builder's not paying concreters.

Our SS said frames would start this week and this morning they showed at just before 7am.

We're a bit freaked out by how high 3.3mtr ceilings are and there's a 2.7mtr floor going above this.

High ceilings are wonderful. Just need to get handymen in for light changes and not climb ladders.

Wonder if it's a 'favour/cheap(er) job' so will get done when the contractors are 'free' ?

In my experience is always a great idea to keep the tradies on-side (not that you wouldn't be pleasant) but a little kindness goes a long way. I recall in the good old days of landlines having the Telstra fellows in on a Sat to put in ONE extra point. Being winter and Melbourne it was terribly wet and very cold. I happened to be baking scones so offered them whilst they waited for the rain to clear. It took quite a while and 2 batches of scones later they were able to go outside. We ended up with telephone jacks in every room in the house - free of charge of course. I reckon they'd have put one in the garden shed.....

We've already given out a some Woolies vouchers (groceries, booze or fuel) and today was choc cake.

We also installed outdoor double GPOs so they can charge their batteries and a small table with kettle and some coffee stuff.

Patiently waiting for our 2nd frame delivery today or Monday or scaffolding for upper level - thats part of this thats a bit annoying, we dont have a timeline on what happens when.

I understand why a SS doesnt share his project management spreadsheet with you because most people will annoy them with the dates/info but it would be nice to know whats going to happen next. We do know bricks and traffic management is booked for 24th May.

In the meantime, I ordered the rear neighbours a "thanks for your patience" hamper. We plan on gifting them a couple of times during the build because part of landscaping is adding panels on top of our shared fence and a couple of other items. We'll pay for them and its for their privacy as well but we dont want any complaints down the track.

And just like that, more frames arrived this afternoon. The delivery guys are amazing, how they get these things on the ground without damage, and I'm grateful our garage is extra long.

Yes, we get NBN. I dont pretend to care about the specifics but there was quite a few emails between hubby and the installer about cable width and type and stuff.

And except for the neighbour across the road, still no slab, all the KDRs near us have tradies and/or supplies on site and are moving along.... which is great to see. One house about 20 houses down the road got their driveway poured yesterday so they should get the keys soon and my builder is building a house 750mtrs from us and they should have handover end of May.

Oh and another friend has decided to knock down their house! So only 823 more referrals to go

We see him almost daily at the front of his site so he must be being told something to keep looking/hoping every day. The neighbourhood dog walkers are all talking about it.

It must so disappointing for him to watch your place moving at a pace while he has no progress.

I’d recommend you look into this - ideally you want NBN FTTP or Fibre to the Property.

This morning at 6.20am, concreters arrived for the site across the road and the neighbours were rejoicing!

Our framers arrived about 6.30am and a crane truck to lift frames to on top of our 1st level. Sadly, its foggy outside and I cant see much on the cameras (in the office today) so waiting patiently.

25yrs ago my husband stole this hoodie from me and its still in amazing condition and thats with being worn every winter. They dont make quality fabric/clothing like this anymore

Yesterday was drone practise as I want some overhead shots of the build.... it only got stuck once in a tree and my pre teen netballing skills finally came in handy in getting it down.
