Does this mean that I will visit other countries??
If they are 2 separate tickets then Austria to Greece is not a flight to Australia and therefore no DPD required. Greece to Australia (via SIN) would require a DPD

Assuming Greece to Australia is return and you intend staying in Australia until you return to Greece then no you aren't visiting other countries.

Can anyone please help me out with this 😊 I don’t want to overthink it before flight but I am wondering what should I put into “have you been/will you visit other countries in past/next 14 days before departure” . I booked 2 separate flights to Australia. I am a resident of Slovakia. But I flight from Austria (Vienna) to Greece (Athens) and then from Athens to Melbourne (transit in Singapore). Now do I put these countries as a future visiting countries? Or they count just as my route trip? I hope it all makes sense. 😊 thank you for help!

Thank you for reply! And you’re right dpd is only needed for 2nd flight that is actually flying to Australia. I was just thinking if me coming to the airport to Vienna counts as a visiting other countries. Same with Athens. My first thought was no as it’s just airports..

On the final leg of our return to Australia, we were handed the traditional form that we filled out and handed in at Tullamarine in the time honoured manner.

There was no mention of the electronic form!

But further inquiries suggest it's currently a transitional period. When fully implemented, any passenger who has not fulfilled the requirements and uploaded the required documents within the prescribed time period will be subject to denied boarding. Apparently, there's to be a hard line and zero tolerance of people who may claim to be unfamiliar with technology due to age or medical condition.

Its odd that the DPD only allows you to enter LHR-DRW, and not the final destination in Sydney. Anyone found a way around this?

There seems to have been little discussion on the Digital Passenger Declaration in operation. Perhaps that means it's operating smoothly with general passenger acceptance and few if any problems?

As I mentioned in another thread, I had some difficulty, whilst in Italy, of fulfilling the requirements of the declaration. When I arrived at Tullamarine after my long flight from Rome (via Frankfurt and Singapore) it was "business as usual" with the time honoured manual form and no mention of or reference to the electronic digital passenger declaration.

The homeaffairs website (see link above) outlines the requirements for people travelling to Australia. I notice with interest there is a potential fine of $6600 for anyone whose declaration is not "in order".

I had LHR-DRW for my recent entry to Oz. Was not mentioned by immigration or customs.

I understand the bureaucrats who devised the system have trialled its operation and it's been judged a complete success. Eventually there'll be zero tolerance of people who do not fulfil the requirements of the DPD? Age or unfamiliarity with technology will be no excuse?

At the document check at LHR prior to QF2 (6/4) there was a fellow turned up and when asked for his DPD he said what! He stood there downloading the app and trying to fill it in. Had a look at the boarding gate and couldn't spot him.

What happens after April 17th when there is no need for the pre-departure test? An Australian would only need a passport and Vaccination Certificate which you need at the departing airport anyway. Will the DPD be used to just to speed up arrival in Aus?

Ultimately, the DPD (which may yet morph) is meant to cover the arrivals card, and the latter can be scrapped. Not sure of the timing around this.

My parents just arrived from UK. The filled in the DPD 24 hours before departure as they were waiting for their PCR results. When they realised they were supposed to do it 7 days to
72 hrs prior they got very worried but it was all fine. They printed it out and showed it at check in. They also had to fill out the paper card on the plane.

You can't hit the final submitt button until CV test result is uploaded. My view is the time frame is to get people started and to upload as much they can. (Before panic sets in for some). Many people will be doing the 24hr RAT.
Anyway in 8 days that pre departure test will not be required.

Which is fab, so one hopes the website will be updated promptly.

Once the covid test is removed, if I were to submit 7 days before arrival, it would mean submitting arrival info before I have even departed australia which seems silly.

Or great planning

I’m currently in the coughet area and my wife and I will land back in Aus the day all restrictions look likely to be lifted for entry into Thailand. A real pain. Anyway, just finished filling in the DPD for both of us. As this was my first time using the recently updated App I can’t compare with the previous version that seemed to give so much grief. It obviously makes a huge difference not being required to get a covid test for re-entry to Aus but it is still a very tedious process. I just get the feeling that I’m providing a lot of info they already know. As someone alluded to earlier, I’m just really filling in the old Arrivals Card ahead of time and including the vax certificate. Summary: tedious but doable. Let’s hope checkin agrees😬.
