Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I had a serious talking to my cat recently, indeed trading in of said cat was mentioned. She had fresh water beside her breakfast, the bath was running and she likes to drink warm water. However, she went and drank from the toilet.

The requisite changes have now been made and the door is kept closed. Apparently there is a closing mechanism for the toilet but being a bloke I don't know how this works.

Miss Bella took a giant leap into the loo when she first came to live with me...just as I'd pressed the flush button. Had to reach out and grab very quickly as she was so tiny back then.

LOL. The net gives an amusing discussion...

"An entry in the Style Invitational (humor contest in the Washington Post) from 2010:Curiosity only collapsed the quantum superposition of Schrödinger's cat into a definite state. What killed it was leaving it in a box for a week."

yes Thats what I was thinking.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Oh thats so sad, I just found out a friend of mine was in a similar situation and I never knew (his body was riddled with tumours, he just told me literally 5 minutes ago that he had surgery and chemo in May).

My cat gave me the cold shoulder all of yesterday because I put the flea/worm liquid thing on her neck.
But she still wanted sleepy cuddles last night, now she's angry with me for not working from home today and being overly demanding.

Thats really sad. :(

The sadder thing is, we think the owners might have abandoned him, moved away, died... We don't know but recently we have been feeding him more as we noticed his condition was declining but he somewhat recovered when started feeding him more. I thought he was getting better when but his condition really went downhill 5 days ago.

Never knew that he probably had Feline leukemia virus which progressed to cancer, but now looking back it all makes sense.

Ha! Very true. When we upgraded to a flat screen we had to secure it in case Bella attempted to climb on it like she did the old one.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Strange things that cats do.....

Our puss doesn't like being alone when she is eating. She will find you (she always seems to know where I am, either upstairs or down) sit beside you and stare you out until you go with her to her food bowl at which time she will start eating. Why can't she just go to her bowl on her own and start eating?

What strange things does your moggie do?

Bella has progressed from sitting in the edge of the bath tub, to getting in the shower with me. Apparently running hot water is much nicer to drink than the cold water in her bowl

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Our cat Munn doesn't like drinking from her bowl either, she will only drink from the bucket under the garden tap or the creek if it is not running fast.

She'll happily drink water that's collected in any dishes sitting in the sink.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

My cat, Petal also prefers moving warm water. This morning she leaned into the bath and fell in to the last 5 cm of water. It was hilarious to watch. She was really annoyed that I laughed at her.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Water lying on the deck after rain is favoured by our moggy.

Lying on my laptop keyboard is also a prime spot. Instead of the TV the cat likes to get on top of the HDD recorder in its alcove and we struggle to get her out.

Our cat also likes company when eating for some reason.

What is it about cats and printers?

Re: The totally off-topic thread

is anyone getting their cat a christmas gift?
I'm thinking of getting ours a fancy kitty litter so I don't have to clean it.
Attempts to teach her how to use the toilet have failed. She just holds on until I put it back they way she want her kitty litter. :(

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I would love her to wear some Christmas clothes but I can't even get a collar on her.

There will of course be a present or two for her. After all she is the creature who always comes to me when I arrive home. Loves to sit on my lap and walk on my face in the morning to wake me up for her breakfast.

And the first call I make when considering travel? To her cattery. I say her name and desired dates and we see what is available.
