So what have you found on ITA Matrix then?

LAX-DEN-MIA-PTY-MIA-ORD or LAX-CLT-MIA-PTY-MIA-ORD for $1085 AUD

LAX-DEN-MIA-PTY-MIA-LAX for $1015

SJU more expensive. Have I left my timing too late or is there another option that is value?

Try searching something like LAX-LAS-PHX-PHL-CLT-MIA-PTY (or SJO instead of PTY, but PTY tends to be cheapest).

Would you search each of those via the multi city booking option? I've been using the advanced codes like AA+ and haven't seen that many connections.

Okay I have found more connections but seem unable to replicate this on aa.com. Can I trick the booking engine into more than 8 sectors?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Don't put each individual segment into AA.com, as you build the routing. For example, using the above, you could look at LAX-PHX, and then check all the options that are thrown up, until you see the one that you are after. This will force the connection that you would be after (i.e., routing through LAS, in the example).

You need to specify the cities you're looking to transit, here's an example:
LAX
LAS PHX PHL CLT MIA / alliance oneworld
PTY
MIA CLT PHL PHX LAS / alliance oneworld

You can only book a maximum of 6 city pairs, so get creative e.g. instead of LAX-LAS, search for LAX-PHX. Sort by schedule (50 results) and keep digging till you find LAX-LAS-PHX as per the routing you found on ITA. Alternatively you can just call AA to book.

That's incredibly helpful for myself as a newbie, I was wondering how some people got so many connections on ITA.

Thanks so much for your assistance! I'll play around and sort my PTY run.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

How do you obtain the 50% offer? Is it by invitation and if so who normally gets it?

By invitation, and who knows. I used to get one every 6 months but I think I only got 1 last year.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I first started with QF NB since 1997 and in all those years, then in the past 24 months, more or less made it to QF PS, and am now sitting on QF SG for a year or so, and have not ever had a 50 % bonus QF FF points or QF SC bonus offer.
Edit:
Has anyone successfully booked a dom J linking into an F service online, (Au - NZ) ignoring the warning that appears on the online booking page, that seats in the linked J/F flights are full or not available.
I live in ADL and when I try a dummy booking, J ADL - SYD linked to an F SYD - CHC/AKL, its always that a notice comes up that it can't be done.
ADL - SYD in J and then SYD - AKL/CHC in J individually booked is quite pricey, joint PNR prices are quite good, but the "warning" puts me off.
I know I could phone QF telephone sales up, and do the J dom and then F by phone...
Or book ADL - SYD in whY at 10 QF SC and then SYD - AKL/CHC in F for 120 QF SC.

[-]This is because there is no F between ADL and SYD, you will be booked in J for that sector. The warning is just advising you of that. If you click through you should see the relevant flights in the appropriate class.[/-]

Can't edit my post on this stupid app, but I stand corrected, there doesn't appear to be a fare loaded. Try a travel site like Expedia or a TA to book these, or QF telephone sales.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Can anyone find me anything for ADL-DRW and return for early August? I know Jetstar has cheap whY deals at the moment but I really want to sample the fine wine that is J (even domestic 737 J). QF preferred.

Cheers

I am not sure what the question is? Are QF or VA web sites not of any help? For example, QF754 (direct) and many MANY others (via PER, ASP, SYD, BNE, MEL) show availability in both Y and J on, say, 3 Aug!

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

So I have booked a EK(QF) F Ticket AKL-BNE to help retain QF Gold.
One question I can not find an answer to: if I am in transit from another international flight in AKL (with no checked baggage), can I simply check-in for the EK Flight at the Emirates Lounge airside and get my boarding pass there? Or would I need to go to the normal all airline transfer desk?

You should be able to - just go though international transit and up to the lounge.

Have you checked your profile to ensure your have ticked the box allowing them to send you offers? If not, they won't.
