I'm still deciding whether to book a MEL - BNE - CNS return run in J. Would be a long day.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Was hopeful there might be runs to be had for <$3K. medhead had posted earlier a suggestion for ADL-BNE-AKL nested within SYD-ADL which comes out at ~$3.1K.

ADL-BNE-AKL is 280SC per DSC. I had a price around $2050 for next weekend.
There must be cheaper ways (than $1000) to pick up another 60SC. What about one way flights on red-e-deals SYD-MEL, MEL-ADL and return? Or just thought a couple of cheapie returns from SYD, plus red-e-deals SYD-ADL return. It's does require extra flying, as a negative.

one could book MEL-SYD-OOL (or SYD-MEL-OOL) in J/C class (ie: Flex biz) one way at the $720 mark, then the other direction in regular Business (at ~$680) which would give 90+80=170SC pre DSC for around $1500?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I wasn't going to chase the SCs this year, until the double points offer came up.

135 would get me over the line this year, any recommendations for an inexpensive way to get them ex PER ?

Cheers

4lex,

Dont live in PER. All I know is that the coast to coast flights are expensive at least in the DSC qualifying period

Can you please play around with the status credit calculator and let us know.

Eg ex PER to these destinations: SIN,KTA,KGI, BME

Here is the link to the calculator:

135 before or after being doubled?

There is a PE r/t ADL-HKG via SYD (QF127/128) for $1548 which should return 320SCs with this promotion.

I also meant to tell you about ADL-xMEL-OOL. That was a pretty good earner during the J sale that finished yesterday.

Yes, that one is a cracker - under $4 per SC for 200SCs each way with DSC. Still pricing at $743 this morning, so $3.71 per SC

Thanks, I did consider that one but couldn't find a reason to go to OOL. The HKG booking is for the lounge run coming up in June. ;)

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

When I put in a booking for SYD-LST, it comes up as SYD-MEL-LST in Flex Y for $632 return and 80SC.

With the double SC this would be 160 for $632 or $3.95 per SC.

Am I reading this correctly

Yes, should be 20sc per sector x 2

Thanks Hirsty

I have to go down to LST for work, so this is just a bit of icing on the cake.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! [not the discussion thread]

Both excellent suggestions. Might see if MrsChooms wants to come with if we get it cheap enough.

Ended up doing a re-calculation of how many SCs I actually need to re-qualify for WP. I only needed 90SCs.

All booked for BNE-CNS-BNE tomorrow (one leg Red e-Deal, one Flexi) and catching up with a mate for lunch. Normally 45SCs... cheers QF for the Double SCs up to 90!

In total, flights cost me $291.01 with an SC earn of 3.2Scs per dollar. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned!

I might even do a quick TR for it...

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Some decent runs available with the QF CGK sale, eg MEL-SYD-CGK return in J for $2135 - with the double status credit promotion brings in 640 SCs or $3.3 / SC.
Similar fares available from other cities connecting through SYD.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi Everyone I'm 240SCs short of SG this year and based in Thailand for the next few months. Looking for any suggestions out of BKK possibly with MH that will put me within range. Don't mind doing overnight as I don't have any time constraints.

Thanks in advance.
