Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

He has managed to attain Silver within 3 months as his job has changed from office based to out in the field.

If this is set to continue, then perhaps just wait it out for another few months when he'll make it to gold in the next year? The cash involved may not be worth just a few month's worth of benefits.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hello

My husband needs 230 SC for Gold by end November. I'm new at this so trying to read and learn on this fantastic site!

I'm looking at him trying to earn these SC on paid flights in October 27/28 over a Sat/Sun. Just trying to figure where he should go from starting in Sydney......What type of run would be required.......Sydney to Auckland in J an option whilst it is on sale???

Any suggestions very much appreciated!!

Fri 26 Oct SYD/DRW JQ672 2130/0040+1 (20 SC disc economy)

Sale fare AUD129.00 + $11.00 fee plus bundle for ff points & SC total AUD140.00 (add $18.00 for 20 kg of checked luggage).

Sat 27 Oct DRW/BNE QF825 1255/1705 (80 SC Business)
Sat 27 Oct BNE/TSV QF978 1940/2140 (60 SC Business)

24,000 QF ff points plus AUD150.80 cash (note that the availability column will say 40,092 points which is the all inclusive level but once you click the review button you'll be able to use the slider to scroll back to the minimum points amount).

Sun 28 Oct TSV/BNE QF967 0920/1110 (30 SC Economy/15 SC Discount Economy)
Sun 28 Oct BNE/SYD QF529 1225/1500 (20 SC Economy/10 SC Discount Economy)

AUD362.00 Flexi Saver (economy SC earn) or AUD226.00 (discount economy SC earn).

If doing the Flexi Saver fare TSV/xBNE/SYD & earning 50 SC the total SC earn for this trip would be 210 so you'd only need another 20 SC to go however you would need one night accommodation in DRW & TSV. Don't know how happy your hubby would be to staying at backpackers type accommodation but the Melaleuca on Mitchell in DRW is a good one, not sure what options they have in TSV.

Do you have any interstate friends or rellies anywhere where he could camp the night?

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hi.

My partner and I want to fly Sydney - Cairns on leaving Sydney between Nov 9 - 12 and returning on Nov 16. In terms of maximising status credits what's my best bang for buck? Flying Jetstar and then buying the Pack or going QF there or something else out of the box?

Cheers!

Have you got any QF ff points to spend for any JASA's or would it all be paid for in dollars?

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hi guys,

i need 220 SC's by 31 Dec to get to gold for the first time.

have a SYD-DFW-AUS on 28 dec which will get me 60, leaving a balance of 160. likely to also have a SYD-SIN return in discount Y for a gain of 60 which brings it down to 100.

any - now to the q - i need to go to canberra in a couple of weeks. is 32k points + $190 good value for a JASA which would net 80 SC's? (it is 80 right?) or should i just buy Y flights for $270

cheers

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Any suggestions how to get 240 SC between now and 28 Feb 2012 to get to SG? I'm in Canberra and I'd prefer to end up in Adelaide. CBR-SYD-HBA-MEL-ADL return, coupled with a CBR-ADL?

If your in Canberra, the obvious one is CBR-HBA via SYD, but if you really need to be in ADL, look at CBR-SYD-BNE-TSV for 24000 + $335, nets 140 SC, then TSV-ADL for 24000 + $100 odd.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

I've been prowling around the site and thought I would sign up to join in the community. I have to garner another 280 points by Feb 28 to go gold so thought I'd ask for some tips. I only have 19000 points (spent the rest on flights for family when they got stranded) so the JASA flights in business might be a bit of a stretch bar short trips.
I am in Mount Isa so there aren't many flight options available however will be in Bris and Townsville a couple of times over the next couple of months so am happy to go on a day trip. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Got to QA SG easy this year again, cutoff is Nov. 1st next, but 2013 will need about 250 status points after some planned flights to retain SG, live in Cairns, prefer not to go via TSV on those awful noisy Dash 8's, any suggestions as JASA's?.

CNS AKL will do the trick.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

This would be in J via BNE?.

I would go via Sydney for the F lounge myself, however as a SG there is not that attraction, just an extra 20 SC for the same price!

A JASA CBR-SYD-ADL-SYD-CBR nets 200SC.

Welcome to AFF, you have a few months to get more points via credit card offers or spend through wine etc, I would concentrate on that with the aim of getting a JASA in Feb.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

looking for suggestion on banking 120SCs by end month (qf gold) with the start and end city being SYD and a need to complete the SC run within one calendar weekend day.

the two JASAs i have found so far:
- SYD <-> ADL for 48K points + $315
- SYD -> CBR -> MEL/BNE -> SYD for 48K points + ~$290

what other options (happy to entertain non-JASA now) on minimising both pts and $$?

thanks in advance

Don't requal SG and use the money to buy QP instead? Pretty sure the value of the two flights chosen so far is more than affiliate pricing on AFF for a year.

SYD-HBA-SYD JASA 48k+$200....leave SYD @ 9:25 back by 13:45

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

that is one way, however i do the bulk of my travel across the APAC region and since Qantas don't cover all the cities i need to visit, Qantas gold is much useful in comparison with QP
