I'm looking forward to QF doing a DSC promo early next year ...
I bought a number of gift vouchers during the last DSC promo in February 2020, most of which I never had a chance to use (for obvious reasons). And while the gift vouchers themselves can still be used, of course the DSC travel period for that offer has well and truly passed. Wonder if it's possible to redeem multiple older gift vouchers for a booking, but still ensure that a particular trip qualifies for any DSC offers that might be forthcoming.

edit: Whoops - just noticed what thread this was. Not sure if the question is off-topic.

You can redeem one per booking (per booking/voucher PNR) and as far as i know the magic attached should post, counting on it!

So with further status extensions unlikely

I'm not so sure. I think Qantas will still come through with something for July-September (possibly also October) anniversaries.

Hopefully they do something at least for Perth folk. One QLD, SA and Tassie open up there won't be much (any) interstate travel and still no international travel until WA reaches 90%. I don't see that happening until Feb at the earliest.

Fingers crossed here too. I'm a July member and may not even get my 4 ~'s.

Plus side is I joined SQ and now gold so it's not through lack of trying

If QF does extend status again then I may do less flying than I otherwise might have done this membership year. They can only extend for so long.

With international borders reopen those with anniversaries July onwards will have a significant portion of their year available to fly (unless the international borders are closed again), so I suspect support if there is some would be more likely to be some free status credits or a one-off reduced number of SC required to retain. At some point QF has to expect people to fly to retain status. Free extensions can’t go on forever.

'available to fly'
to what a tiny network internationally with extensive hassles and extra costs?
i'm already rebaselining my plans from keeping platinium medium term thru status runs then finishing LTG to just keeping gold + going for LTG in however long it takes me. 'm sure many others are in similar situations. status was not as easy to come by as in previous years, now its horrendus to come by.
i'm betting they'll extend out to the end of 2023, then after that start offering selective non public status extensions based off your longer term flying history.

Hi all, any tips for the 100 SCs required for the status challenge, ex-MEL?

Hi all, any tips for the 100 SCs required for the status challenge, ex-MEL?

You could wait for a DSC promotion otherwise here is a sample of how you can earn 100 SC with Jetstar in one day for $618 at today's prices and avoid any covid testing requirements.

Australia Day
30SC MEL-BNK 6.25-8.25 $169 with Max bundle
30SC BNK-MEL 9.00-11.05 $169
20SC MEL-SYD 15.20-16.45 $140
20SC SYD-MEL 17.30-19.05 $140

Hi guys, 31st Dec membership date. I earn a lot of points from spending but not so many SC's from flying. Currently on 290 and wouldn't mind going to silver for the first time. I'm a points club member too if that helps.

What's my best bet from MEL to get the extra 10 SC's and go silver for next year?

A quick trip to MQL and no need to leave the state.

Hey all,

I also have the 100SC challenge to complete by 28 Feb 2022. I should get 15SC from the Covid certificate gift by Qantas, which would leave me with only 85SC to acquire. So basically any suggestions ex-BNE?

I did see a BNE-MEL-OOL for $209 just before that was 1/2 price. 30SC’s so not bad value
Thank you! This is a great little option for a decent price. Although will need to do it three times.

Sudoer - not in Points Club yet, so can't collect on rewards tickets.
