Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hi all,

Anyone with tips for a good Asia status run? I note the TPE suggestion. Any others out of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand or Cambodia??

Thanks in advance!

Have a look at KUL-BKK rtn on Royal Jordanian Business. 120SC for approx $400.

MH also does good deals in business every now and then.

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

When people have cancelled a JASA how long does it take for the cancellation to show up in manage my booking? I cancelled one a couple of hours ago but it's still showing 'confirmed'.

I understand it may take a few days for the cash and points to be refunded but that's fine.

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

Could someone just help me check my maths first, and suggest a run please?

WP, for requal. Has 50 SCs only. Going J PER-SYD-AKL-AKL-SYD-NRT-ICN-HKG-PER already (i.e. not eligible for double SCs).

Therefore needs 510 for plat requal? Has double SCs so needs a run for 255sc? PER based, could use points, plenty available. Minimal time used is a plus, but would consider a variety of options.

Thanks!

The CNS run: PER-xSYD-CNS is 160 without DSC.

Try PER to CNS via SYD or MEL and return. Or position to kta and look at runs to BNE via ADL or Mel ( harder to find).

With the Jetstar classic awards points cost going down, perhaps it may be useful for repositioning flights before SC run? :D

If you cancelled a JASA using MMB then you will not get your original cash and points refunded.

You get a relatively low value credit voucher against your profile.

To get a full refund of cash and points (where the rules allow) you need to pick up the telephone and CALL.

This is mentioned up thread several times and is also in other threads.

Often it will sit in your bookings as confirmed (not to be confused with a credit voucher) for at least 24 hours, then the points will come back and it will go, I have also had a couple sit like that for weeks, with another call to cancel required, while one I needed up using as I changed my mind, it was if it had never had anything done!

We did it today - by phone. Will see how long it will take for points to be refunded. Will post result - after points are back into account.

Re: Best Status Run Options - Questions and General Discussion

I cancelled by phone don't worry.
The points just reappeared and the booking is now gone from MMB.
I was concerned as the flight was at 6am and even though I cancelled yesterday it was still showing up.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

That is impressive !

How much $ was the cash component ?

Excuse the late reply. Cash component was $575 - not sure if this really represents good value or not, but I decided to try and get Gold before I head to Europe in June, so I went for it.

You could visit the Darwin newspaper just to see if they are running another croc story

Thanks markis. Can I just confirm that was departing from where? Or that was just generally domestically in Malaysia?

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Thanks to double SC offer and all the excellent information on AFF - just booked OOL-SYD-MEL-HBA by a JASA for 48,000 and $320 - hitting a loyalty bonus so an extra 8,000QFF points and the points for the flight brings it down even more - using the SC calculator on Qantas it equals 240 x 2 = 480. 1 night in an airport hotel in Hobart. Then only short 70 credits and have until February to acquire them. Gold for the first time is exciting.

Looking to do a similar run myself ex BNE (as I have to get there first from MOV)

Was checking out the Karratha runs this morning but seems a lot of return legs via MEL are around the 250K points mark !!

I'm keen to do before end of June as I'm looking forward to Gold for the first time.

Suggestions anyone?

That was ex KUL, PEN has a lounge, LGK does not. Check the MH site for deals of the day, they come up on a regular basis.

EX MOV it might be better to look at TSV DRW, availability can be hard where there are few daily options.
