Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

If you're going to do a couple of day trips to the Gold Coast, you might also want to consider going to SIN and back, with one connection either on the way there or on the way back. The price isn't much difference with the current sale.

I am ashamed that I didn't think of that. ;(

Thats why he is Awesom Andy

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Just poking around with the current Win-Win J sale, saw OOL-HBA advertised for $530. CHecked the dates and for the same price came up with the routing of OOL-SYD-MEL-HBA. Might be worth investigating for some of you. Also ADL-MEL $369.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Apologies if I missed something in the thread, but what would people suggest as the best 'one day' SC run from BNE back to BNE ? I'm regarding KTA as a 2-day since it would at a minimum require a red-eye leg.

How many points do you have, and how many SCs do you need?

More than 500k points. After a trip next week I will only need 60 SCs to re-attain Gold, so then I'll need another 700 to re-attain WP. Just working out how far I can get before MASAs disappear !

BNE-TSV-BNE costs 48k and will earn 120SC if flown before 1 July (80SC after). You are a bit limited if you want to travel in one day. If you are able to position to DRW for example your earning ability increases (DRW-xBNE-TSV return costs 48k yet earns 240SC before July 1).

Thanks Jessica. Looking at the Googledocs file, I see that BNE-SYD-CBR-SYD-BNE nets 160 SCs for 32k points and $480, and BNE-SYD-HBA-SYD-BNE nets 200 SCs for 48k pts and $350. Can someone tell me what the SC earn on those will be after July 1.

160 SCs on both, I believe, with SYD-HBA dropping to 40SCs.

Try as I might, I only seem to come up with BNE-MEL-HBA-MEL-BNE for ~ 76,000. Can not find any via SYD for only 42K.
If I could I would try and squeeze one in during June.

There are a few coming up in the list, at 48k points, if I just do a BNE-HBA return search. Wednesdays seemed to have some.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Does anyone have any good ex-SYD tier credit runs, I need 100 if possible.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Quick advice needed - I have to be in BNE next Friday night for a mate's retirement. Before I drop points on a SYD-BNE-SYD award (SWMBO isn't happy about me spending money!) is there a status run possibility here? Have many points.

Have to be in BNE from mid arvo Friday, **MUST** be back in Sydney by lunchtime Sat. Could leave SYD Thursday evening or Friday AM.

Would love to do something clever.. probably last chance.

Sydney to Brisbane via Darwin, Perth and/ or Karratha?
I haven't looked at the timetables.

FWIW, the new SYD-HVB flight comes in at 601 miles, so 15 SC. Before it is simplified, that is. The aircraft being used are 2 class, but only Y service/fares.

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Pretty hard to beat LAN across the ditch in J for $700 round trip.
Where does one find these mythical $700 return J fares? All I ever see are $1,600-800 on the QF booking engine. :(
