I need 105SC by 31Dec to maintain SG, haven't been flying as much this year due to my wife being ill. Qantas contact centre offered for me to retain SG at the cost of 80000 points. I want to keep my points for a future RTW reward trip rather than spend them.

For timings, I will possibly have to fly the last week of December (not Xmas Day) unless I can sneak in a Saturday or Sunday return trip.

From BNE, any recommendations for the cheapest way to do a roundtrip in a day or overnight at a stretch to get at least 105SC?

If you can fly on Xmas day, I suspect you'll save yourself a lot of money. Flying either side of Xmas is usually very expensive.

Hi All. Seeking advice on best options for status runs ex PER. Totally open on route and timing. Have previously done PER - DPS xMEL (never again, that 737 flight over is a shocker even in J, and the return is even worse) and xSYD (A330 over and back) but good earner. Looked PER - CHC or AKL but quite expensive. Waiting for AY to release their J RTW special for next year (apparently still bring negoiated should be released Jan) and if still sub 6K will book again. Grateful any advice. Cheers Tropic

Grab one of the many cheap flights in Y for a couple of hundred bucks to DPS and then you have the brilliantly cheap MH intra Asia fares that I find good earners.
DPS-KUL-LGK in J for under $700 return and 200SC’s for instance.

Yeah have used the MH runs previously exDPS, to Langkawi, Kota Kinabulu and Manila, sround 400 a pop in 2018. Dont mind MH 737s but even better if you can jag the A330 for the dps-kul sectors. MH pricing didnt look too good for Jan but will llok again. Just wondering if any other routes worth looking at.

BA PER-BKK is good when on sale, but does need a TA to book.

Looking for clarification about earning on AA domestic since october - using the points calculator, we are meant to select 'business' for flights advertised as 'first' right?

Correct. The only time AA Domestic now credits to QFF as First is in the three-cabin aircraft from LAX/SFO-NYC vv

Oh no. There’s that poor QF coffee guy in the avatar, above. How did he ever get conned into that crazy coffee blurb in the safety video?

Thank you kindly! The tables were confusing me but I see what they mean now.

Pfft double shot ... big night ... a double shot is what you call a childrens coffee.

Have 2 weeks in DPS 15 - 29 Jan looking to do some MH SC runs to MNL or LGK but pricing looking much higher than last time. Any other ideas for OW runs exDPS appreciated.

How many SC are you after? The DPS-DOH fare is still around on either MH or UL and both fares have no min stay.

Edit: Will do an ex DPS spreadsheet in a bit.
As many as I can get. Just don't want to sit around DPS for 2 weeks 😀 didnt think of DOH
