DJ Appreciation Run Nov 19 BNE MEL CBR SYD ADL

Maybe DJ need to look at being able to do multicity flights eg 3 in the one day. Seems criminal to have to pay out for 3 sector fares when all travel is on the one calendar day.

If you search on the DJ website for Canberra to Adelaide, the option to go via Sydney on the flights Stroyteller stated comes up. So that is one ticket.

But you only get the SCs awarded for a direct CBR-ADL so it's a trade off between SCs or $$'s.

Apart from Storytellers CBR flight, has anyone done any bookings yet??

I've got mine and the bosses, BNE-MEL booked. Still deciding on the balance, but I'm guessing it will be MEL-SYD and then SYD-OOL.

Should also mention, there are some sales running at the moment for Nov 19 -

MEL-CBR - DJ-271 - $95
CBR-SYD - DJ-655 - $88
SYD-ADL - DJ-436 - $99

There is a BNE-MEL sale fare as well, but on an earlier flight than that first selected.

BNE-MEL - DJ-304 - $109 (Dep BNE 0555, Arr MEL 0915)

Be a total (excluding rtn leg on Sunday) of $391

All gone quiet on this thread.

I've now booked our BNE-MEL flights and MEL-SYD.

Anyone else booked?

Yes I've booked the leg I'll be doing:
MEL-CBR DJ271 departing 1350 hours

Now where can I get 69kg of luggage from?

The rates at the Adelaide Hilton are very cheap that night for some reason.

Prepaid with HPC discount is only $105.60. :D

.... and yes I'm sure it is not the hotel in the Adelaide suburb of Hilton :!:

When you read the foursquare tips - one person has noted the drive through bottle store is great!

I/we have booked the Adelaide Hilton for the night and the listed CBR-SYD-ADL flights. (More to come)

storyteller has also booked at the Hilton.

I'll be doing the MEL-CBR sector (DJ271). I've booked my flight earlier today and am looking forward to meeting all of you in Melbourne. I'll wave goodbye in Canberra. Regards, PeteJ.

I can help you out. Could you please deliver this carefully wrapped package to my "uncle". There is nothing sus about it, its just "a present"

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Thinking of flying Tiger Bne-Mel, to add some adventure, their flight Bne-Mel is $69

I've booked the Hilton as well, at that price it's hard to go elsewhere, probably do BNE MEL on the Friday and join from there.

For the esteemed company here who are originating in Brisbane, here is an itinerary that will cover all the destinations, however it is a one-day affair only (a very long one!). It is based on the cheapest prices available thanks to the current sale which ends on Monday (Saver fares):
Code:
[B][U]Flight Sector Dep Arr Dur'n Dist SCs Cost Connect Remarks [/U][/B]
DJ 302 BNE-MEL 0500 0820 2:20 857 15 $109 5:30
DJ 271 MEL-CBR 1350 1455 1:05 292 10 95 0:35 Earlier option available, connection may violate MCT
DJ 655 CBR-SYD 1530 1620 0:50 147 10 88 1:55 Earlier option available
DJ 436 SYD-ADL 1815 1950 2:05 725 10 99 0:45 Earlier option available
DJ1407 ADL-BNE 2035 2225 2:20 1007 15 119 END

Total price is $510 + (5 x $4.50) = $532.50 including c/c charges. 60 SC earned for a rate of $8.875 / SC. It would be a very long day though. Some of the connections are not made easy by the lack of non-stop options going to/from CBR.

Whilst you can stay in ADL overnight, the fares getting from ADL to BNE are back-breaking (unless you get the first flight of the morning). You could get to an intermediate point like SYD or MEL easy enough (again, tendency is for early flights, however), but then to meet a flight going back to BNE at a reasonable price is almost impossible.

Still haven't booked anything but hoping to this week. Need to spend some time thinking things out.

If you are on those flights anat0l, I will be stalking you, or you me. Just booked them all as above. Could not justify the extra $90 for DJ316. Maybe VA will see how dedicated we are, and switch us to the correct flight, even though we are too tight to pay the higher fare :).

By the look of things, if everyone goes, I will be up back by the dunny as a lowly gold LOL. Also think the standard boarding lane will be quicker than priority. I am looking forward to the ATR, never been on one before. Speaking of that, when is the inaugural ATR flight?
