Does anyone here actually collect amenities kits as a hobby?

I am going to take some stuff to Every little bit helps once I've moved. I was really peeved the way the women's shelter treated me last time I took a lot of little shampoos and airline stuff to them so Every little bit helps will get all my stuff

Common @Matt01, I know that’s not it. ;) What about the hotel amenities?!?! :D I’ve already got 3 x laundry bags full ready to go end of this year.

Yes you are correct I have Hotel product as well, but the thread is not about how much hotel product I can sweep. For those of us who live in ADL (for me be it on a part time basis) MrsM and Mother-in-lawM have found a shelter in the hills (Mt Barker) that will gladly take hotel sized product.

Off Topic, @Aeolus Next time we catch up I must thank you for asking MrsM about what she thought of the new bag (the sneaky bag purchase). I may now have to buy the same brand in both the carry on and checked size but in gloss blue. Apparently her luggage needs to be upgraded.

OK I have a ridiculous amounts of bags - old good quality Samsonite backpacks, conference bags etc - does anyone know an organisation that might like these because I hate just throwing things out

I work for a NFP in Melbourne and even though I do enjoy collecting amenity kits, PJs and so on, I've now set the mission to collect some for one of our partners (Access Health on Grey St). Whenever I've travelled, I have left them small bags with toothbrushes, combs. shampoos and all of those things from hotels/in flight amenities. The staff and manager there have loved it when we bring something as they have lots of homeless clients that come in to use showers. It does make such a difference for people as they feel they are spoilt for choice with a variety of shampoo, PJs options. :)

@VPS - do you have a pic of the Samsonite backpack? Would happily make a donation to your charity of choice if in return for one if interested

I'm just in the process of moving so may take a couple of weeks but I will do it - nudge me if I forget.

Our local CFS accepts hotel items, even some clothing items.
I found this out when we were evacuated in 2016 due to floods.
We were offered a shower and change of clothes.

Do you think they would want some bags - shopping bag size but with conference or company names on them. If not apparently the Salvos will take them for people to take home purchases

The problem with the CFS is not knowing when they are open. I think the Salvos near the corner of Glynburn and Magill would be a better option for you.

On a serious note thanks for the info on ELBH.

On a less serious note the thing we all need to wish for is the Lufthansa F slippers. They are the most comfortable things. I ration out their usage as it will be a long time if ever I do LH F again.

No rush VPS, I'll give you a nudge end of July If you haven't already done so

I can't work out how to add images to a conversation so everyone gets to see it - I think it would be quite expensive to post

I am not sure that you can add an image to a PM and like you ended up sharing images with all. :)
