Does anyone here actually collect amenities kits as a hobby?

We need to have another glass of red in SYD F, or maybe several, and discuss the merits of grey vs beige :p

I am showing my age now, beige must have been popular with airlines at some point, I still have a set of QF F that are beige/ nasty brown in my MEL residence. Not in original packaging but still used in the winter.

Airline PJ's is what I like.
Unfortunately I don't fly OS much so depend on giveaways. My last couple of J flights (SQ, CX) didn't come with PJ's

Airline PJs are a lifesaver for hospital stays. Super comfy and if they get wrecked it doesn’t matter.

Im going to address, "to me to give a cheap toothbrush is not really true charity"

Donating your hotel, airline toiletries frees up much needed funds for Shelters AND it gives the person using the donated item dignity. A shampoo, soap and toothbrush means a lot, when you dont have anything.

Im a big donator to Every Little Bit Helps. They have lots of collection points interstate or you can send to me (Ill send you a pre addressed express parcel) and I will forward them on (Ive got my own bag of goodies to send).

Very generous of you.

I just sent an enquiry as to where I can drop off in ADL as I have quite a few hotel goodies. Thanks for the tip @Denali

I love the idea behind Every Little Bit Helps and plan to send them a package in the next week - it certainly beats trying to cram more kits into my laundry / bathroom cabinets!

That said, if anyone here knows of any local Brisbane charities or shelters that could use similar donations, feel free to point me towards them. :)

We too collect and donate to every little bit helps. For exactly the same reason. It is also worth mentioning that the amenities kits (and other toiletries) we donate are unopened . So not some second hand / used cast off .

We delivered 4 wine boxes full of kits and toiletries to them a few weeks back

I tried to donate both J and F to women's shelters here in Sydney and was told they want full size items.
I have quite a few of unopened ones if people want
I was actually wondering if anyone local is likely to have the ANA samsonite ones ? They look cute

Gentle prod to those that have an amenity hoard thats sitting in a draw.

Every Little Bit Helps

@Maisy33, I am a bit OCD when it come to free stuff and hotel products are high on the list, I sweep them up every day. Most of this product goes to shelters and a female AFFer who I know quite well also comes around to collects these from me to donate to womens shelters. I work for an organisation that has a number of frequent travellers and someone last year had the sense to put collection buckets on every floor to leave amenity kits, hotel products and other donations and I believe it all ends up at a charity @Denali promotes on this site "Every Little Bit Helps". Other stuff I give away would be of little or no interest to shelters e.g. lounge passes, noise cancelling headphones, QF coasters (WP and P1 variety) etc. On AFF there are all types, I just attempt to balance what goes to charity and what goes to the Av geeks or travel enthusiasts who may not get the opportunity to travel in J or F.

Marie Kondo would most likely have kittens if she saw my hoard. ;):D

Thanks to the first page to the link to ehbh! I can Marie Kondo my family home now of all the amenities my family has been collecting for years.

I only collect the amenities bag if its pretty cool or practical like JAL's business class one and Qantas' business class one (ugly but the zipper is so smooth and the pouch is huge!)

Same with Etihad. Thats most prob because they have one of the worse kits out there but the cases are used by Every Little Bit Helps to make female bags with tampons, makeup ect.

Katryna from Every Little Bit Helps here, just popping by to say thanks for your continue support. Through generous supporter such as yourself we have now donated over 45,000 care packs to people in need throughout NSW, QLD, VIC, SA,ACT & WA & you are correct - our Lady Care Packs are packed into amenity bags :)

I found some but they are not new, stuffed in a bag I had not opened in a while.

In other news for those that travel QR the amenity kits are about to be changed in F and J and still by Brics.

Anyone found some nice new kits or pjs of late ?
After the recent SIN lounge crawl and a sneaky purchase of new checked size luggage it was time to do some reshuffling of stuff and I finally found other stuff that I knew I had but could remember where I had put them. So less one older style Delta (Tumi) kit that is somewhere I think this is my total hoard.

The soft case styles

The mini luggage collection (plus a QR J kit)

There has also been a few items already sent to AFFers and @Buzzard took 20 pairs of slippers off my hands.

Oh my flipping goodness @Matt_01
Now I can only aspire lol
Yep and I this time last year I gave away about 65-70 items ranging from F PJs and Amenity kits, noise cancelling head phones, to plane (plain) boring slippers. The photos above does have some older items mixed amongst the but the majority are less than 12 months old.
