Double SC for all! (Book until midnight 6th Mar, Travel Mar 2017 - Feb 19, 2018)

Mine are even longer. Definitely time for a call i think!

I emailed them last week, no reply as yet. I guess technically they have up to 6 weeks to credit them, but annoying when some come through in 1 or 2 days. Very inconsistent.
 
Why do I get the feeling these delayed SC postings are tied in with the earlier issues about date /time of registration and/or bookings?
 
Sounds like it could be. It's important to book after GMT ticks over to the booking window dates (even though the promo specifically mentions an Australian time zone, QANTAS's systems use GMT and ignore time zone differences when determining booking eligibility for the promo automatically). If you don't then you'll need to ring to get the bookings to credit after waiting the 6 weeks. In last year's thread a number ran into this.

You also need to register before you book.

I registered in the early hours of the morning (was quite restless after seeing the promo was on before getting to bed) the promo opened (hope that's not an issue, but I guess it could well be as it's not within the promo using the same dates in GMT time).

Actually the T&Cs are ambiguous about that - it says something like "you must register and book within the period" but not that you have to register first.
 
Ah good point, but QANTAS's systems disregard for the timezone specified by their own T&Cs is quite annoying.

If the promo says you can book from 12:01am AEDST then you should be able to make a booking then and automatically get the credits, but sadly that's not how it works.
 
And to really test out the system, will I get double or only 50% bonus?

Flying this Sunday - gift voucher purchase in the double SC promo (registered and in the period) - convert to flights (with ABN added) after registration and during the booking period for the 50% promotion.

I am hoping for double - based on history or PNR creation, but if they have shifted the goal posts, and changed the system, then I will be pushing for the 50%.

May have to wait 6 weeks, and I will not be prompting anything for a while.....
 
If you both bought the voucher and used it to book flights during the period you should be able to get the DSC after waiting the 6 weeks and calling up if it's similar to previous years, I think.

That's where it gets tricky. I bought the voucher during the DSC period, but did not book the flights until after that period expired. In past years, that has been sufficient, as it was the PNR creation that was important.

There are has been some speculation up-thread that the system may have changed, and that the actual flight booking is now relevant. If that is the case, then I did the actual flight booking (using the voucher, and retaining the voucher PNR), during the 50% promo booking period - so that is the fall back.

I flew PER-MEL-SYD on 14/04/17 and SYD-NOU on 15/04/17.
SCs posted on the dates flown.
Double SCs posted on the 18/04/17 for all flights.
Another data point.
Those following closely can draw conclusions from that.

I'm holding onto my 2 ($50) vouchers and looking to use one for an upcoming BNE/.../PER/.../BNE trip that I will do in June.

Am really looking forward to some experience (data point) from another member who booked a voucher, has used it and got the DSC.
I wouldn't be too concerned. Voucher creation is within the promotion dates. If don't post automatically then a call to Qantas should fix up the situation.
 
I think QF would want the creation and redemption to both occur within the promotion booking dates, not just one of those.

I have successfully argued that vouchers purchased at Christmas and used later during double SC or double points promotions are eligible for the promotion.

Qantas wins each time as they get a commitment from me and then extra spend later.

QF WP did you book the flights you took last week from 12:01am GMT on the 2nd May onwards or earlier that day in AEDT? If you booked it earlier then despite the T&Cs saying the qualifying booking dates were AEDT, QANTAS's computer system probably decided your booking was made on the 1st and ineligible. You can ring and get this fixed once the 6 weeks are up.

Hopefully it's just that they haven't processed DSCs for the dates you flew yet.
