Qantas made it quite clear they aren't really interested here.
Don't make that assumption.

Over discussing these deals spoils it for others. It costs nothing to take a chance and buy a $50 voucher during these promotions and use that voucher to book flights later and see if double points or double SCs post.

There are things called Private Messages you can use.

My first flights under this offer are coming up soon.

Quite correct Pushka, according to this quote from the new Red Roo (their last post). They frequent FB, Twitter, etc now and this isn't one of their first line social media forums.

Somebody used the account recently though (but didn't post): Last Activity 19th April 2017 02:07 PM

But QF have enough data from multiple previous offers to know whether certain methods are not benefiting them and if a loophole is opened, they will close it. But they are akin to the Queen Mary.

They know about the loophole and havent closed it, probably because voucher purchases give them a lot of cash with more to come when people use the vouchers to book....

There fixed that up. :D

Exactly - they get immediate cash from people who wouldn't otherwise commit it just then because their plans are not yet firm.

That's giving them a lot of credit. I still think it's simply due to limitations in their booking system/IT. Same as the problem between GMT and AEST for registration to the offer or not being able to display the 2 different seat maps QF11 to JFK and not being able to change a booking online if 2 change of schedules have occured since ticketing, etc...
It's easy to associate some business benefit in not fixing the voucher loophole, but QF have so many IT limitations that I don't think they can all be justified by some secret master plan to increased cash inflows. As I mentioned before, it took them a few years to fix the non-upgradable fare loophole, at the time one could have said QF was happy with the loophole because people were spending their points to upgrade, so less FF points liability. But in the end they fixed it.

Anyway, just my 2 cents..

Quite probably their booking system, but the cash probably gives them an incentive to look the other way...

Not sure bout that. They responded to me recently by calling but because of a tweet (ugh) and Facebook post. I hadn't given my ff number on Facebook but they tracked me down.

Back in 2014 with that final 767 flight going on and I'd expressed in post form that I missed booking it and I would have wanted to go. Posted on here, not FB. Didn't think much of it until I had a call a few days prior to the flight from the P1 team simply with the message "Check your private messages on AFF from RedRoo" and it was an offer for a seat due to a cancel. They knew who I was no problem (it wouldn't be too hard really). Now maybe certain others helped out the ex-RR (not looking at anyone but you know who I think you may be :) ) but either way they knew who I was. Didn't bother me.. had a great time/experience.

I'd also note that people are using the "fact" that the QF "Red Roo" account posted saying they wouldn't partake any more.. that ignores totally the fact that that is a public account associated with the official airline presence. Think managers and general QF, VA, and all the rest folk don't troll boards - either unofficially as part of their job, or privately.

I can assure you it's naive to think there are not those folks out there (hi!).

I know for a fact from people I know who work at not one, but several US major carriers, that many in operational and other areas (eg: loyalty) in those carriers would keep tabs on FlyerTalk and the other "big" online sites.... they knew what was going on.

No doubt it's Amadeus

I'd also suggest that the numbers of flight club are small enough (relatively) that it's probably not worth the time and effort to "fix" something that gives them revenue (now and later) anyway and probably a factor is that if you piss off the (relative few) that you risk losing those customers fully over things like this... so accept it possibly as a "cost" of doing business.

my 2 cents.

Another Data point for those caught up by IT issues. I registered and had two bookings put in during the eligible period one flown shortly after that still hadn't posted. I just called Qantas and as it turns out they had no record of registering (definitely did!!!) The end result is they have manually credited my first flights and have left a note for the second booking to be flown in early June. Good result in the end, but i was warned this is a one time good will gesture, and to screen shot the confirmation page in future. This I will most certainly do!

You should also have got an email, though depending how you registered you may not have.

A screenshot is definitely recommended.

In hindsight not getting an e-mail should have given me a warning but I recieved the "you've registered" page and pretty much took it for granted. lesson learned ;)

The problem was the rego process was a bit funny; if you clicked the link you didnt actually register until you clicked through further and put your email address in. I only got the confirmation email after doing that.

I still have no double SCs (and no response to my email, which is pretty poor).

All I can assume is I'm a victim of the GMT bug, since I booked around 8am on the first day of the promotion. Will just have to wait the 6 weeks and follow it up I guess :(

Given todays experience I'd just ring now and check. You could say you've heard credits had been posting quickly and wanted to check if there was an issue. worst comes to worst they think you're impatient ;)

Yes, that is sad.

Sounds very much like it, and if you have other bookings booked around the same time you'll likely have to do the same thing for those as well.
