QF WP did you book the flights you took last week from 12:01am GMT on the 2nd May onwards or earlier that day in AEDT? If you booked it earlier then despite the T&Cs saying the qualifying booking dates were AEDT, QANTAS's computer system probably decided your booking was made on the 1st and ineligible. You can ring and get this fixed once the 6 weeks are up.

I was vascilating for a couple of days whether to even book any QF sectors but I weakened and registered online and received the following email within an hour, so I believe I meet the GMT time:

Kind regards
Qantas Club and Frequent Flyer Service Centre

Booking for this sector was made on 19 April (oh scratch all of this, it was made under my 1.5 SC offer :o )

Hopefully it's just that they haven't processed DSCs for the dates you flew yet.

My fervent hope also - but now it will only be 1.5 x SC's ;) :(

I only have 2 vouchers that were bought on 6th March (1.30pm) remaining under the DSC offer :D.

So great news Equus. My question then. If I book an expensive fare will the whole fare give double credits if just a $50 voucher used. :o

I plan on doing that. Maybe try one of those Emirates F bargain deals to NZ and I'm in!

I'm watching very very carefully. As I understand it we have ONE confirmation that vouchers during DSC earn DSC. Just one? This is my chance to take my Dad on a Platinum trip if confirmed. I want to take him to Find lounge before he gets too old!

I'm very confused. why wouldn't it? Assuming vouchers are OK the value of voucher and fare is irrelevant, it's all abput the PNR :)

Well I agree but this is Qantas after all. (ie the people who are making me do double log in verification as a pilot and are rolling it out to all even though feedback has been poor. )

And if it seems too good to be true well.....

Well yes but it's still very early days in the booking period. My vouchers will only be used once the new membership Year clicks over or else they are wasted for reaching status.

Thank you for posting so quickly equus! Very positive news for those of us holding vouchers purchased in the eligible period (looking across at RichardMEL ;) )
Holding to a few vouchers? ;)

I never had doubts but then I don't think it's a good idea to continue discussing this on AFF.

There is a very good reason there is only one confirmation in this forum.
Think about it.

Qantas made it quite clear they aren't really interested here.

I'm sure if QF could they would do something about it. Remember a few years ago when QF was offering points upgrade from non-upgradable fares on "selected" routes and actually all bookings were eligible, they eventually fixed it, but it took years.

Oh, so then I can talk about that sneaky that that lets me do that thing that maybe I shouldn't be able to do, regardless of status? ;)

totally gave up on the first rule of Fight Club since most others did. *sigh*

Anyway QF are well aware of this given RR was directly asked to confirm last year so.....

Just because they're not posting it doesn't mean they don't read posts here, though I suspect some at QF would use tricks discussed here for some of their own travel if they care about things like status.

Sounds like a plan. :D

Not sure bout that. They responded to me recently by calling but because of a tweet (ugh) and Facebook post. I hadn't given my ff number on Facebook but they tracked me down.

At the risk of going further off topic, Qantas is a very large company with many people in many different positions. There are certainly people there (and not such 'ground staff', but more senior/high level corporate staff) who are aware of these sorts of things, but it isn't really their job to care about them so they just let them slide or take advantage of them themselves :)

This.

Really, QF are getting what they wanted - dollars in the door early - doesn't really matter to them what it is attached to at that point, and when or how it gets "flown" - they get the cash in the period they nominate. It may just be that they get a little bit now (well $50pp voucher, but times n vouchers), and then the rest later. They also don't do so badly out of the later either - once the voucher is committed to DSC, then it becomes so tempting to spend on a more expensive fare to really leverage those DSC. In the case of the example posted, it really did need to be flex, due to potential last minute changes, but last year I succumbed and actually changed one to a paid J class (the available Y buckets were a bit pricey, at least that's my justification to myself).
