The same thing happened to me, which concerns me as I had already registered through the original email, should I be concerned it didnt work the first time?

Hurry, double Status credits when you book before 21 December

Dear <serfty.swmbo>,

Thank you for registering to earn double Status credits* on eligible Qantas International flights^.

Now all you need to do is book. But hurry - you only have until 21 December. ...

Hmmm.. nothing on the radar for SWMBO that was not already booked - nice to get a reminder though.

Just noticed that there is a flash promo for this on my status page and I was able to register for this. Sadly my next int'l flight in Mar is on BA (booked and paid already). I have a BKK trip on QF but we wont be paying for that until the new year :(

Can you book it and hold the seat, then pay later and still be covered?

I just received a reminder email that I need to book by the 21st, even though I’ve booked 8 flights since Saturday, not all international though.

Took the link that anchew posted above, but couldn’t register any other family members for the promotion. Seems a little silly to advertise it to everyone when only a few can actually register for it.

Aside from this thread, I doubt I would ever have found that page (well, maybe if I was motivated to I might, but I haven't actually seen a link to it from anywhere else) - so I don't think it is advertised to everyone.

I can see the registration page for double SCs in my summary (I was targeted for the promo), but my partner can't see this link in his (he was not sent the invitation).

Ahh, thanks for pointing that out, I saw it was in the member specials section so just assumed it was a promotion available to all, but just had a look and didn’t see it.

Not sure I like your chances, samh004. According to my reminder email (emphasis added):

^ Recipients of this email will be eligible for double Status credits by booking and paying for any Qantas International flight with a Qantas flight number where Status credits are normally earned between 1 and 21 December 2010 for travel completed between 1 January and 31 March 2011.

got a reminder for booking flights for the promo...

anat0l, you'd better hurry up...;)

OT; Has anyone ever met this female in real life on a QF Flight? Or, is she just from a company that does advertisements? She seems to pop up a fair bit on the QF ads.

Reminder email actually contains some T&Cs (my emphasis)

^ Recipients of this email will be eligible for double Status credits by booking and paying for any Qantas International flight with a Qantas flight number where Status credits are normally earned between 1 and 21 December 2010 for travel completed between 1 January and 31 March 2011. This offer is not transferrable. Qantas may extend the offer. Extra Status credits will be awarded within 6 weeks of travel.

If I was booking an ASA I would be paying cash for at least a portion.

Well if you pay the $25 to hold the seat a payment has technically been made. :p

...and fly between two domestic ports. My experience from a QFF perspective is that they are treated as domestic flights. You can also request ODU's on such legs.

"ODU"?? Couldn't find this in the abbreviations page nor a meaningful interpretation on Google

I got the impression from the QF December newsletter that everyone was now eligible for the promotion.

I received a reminder email the other day. I have not even bothered to register and I can't see myself paying for additional flights in the next 6 days.

I'm glad I joined this convo after the usual "I didn't get picked... this is not fair... wah wah wah wah wah" posts are over...
Lol!

If you did not get the double credits I think you would have a good chance to claim, there is nothing to suggest domestic legs of international flights are not eligible.
Surely a SYD-BNE flight from the international terminal would still be classed as a domestic flight.

And the same would go for domestic flights on international itineraries.

Not if it has international passengers who have passed through border control, its classed as a domestic leg of an international flight:

Are only offered on Australian domestic Qantas flights (QF400 and above) as well as domestic legs of Qantas International flights (QF1-399).

Wasn't in my newsletter.
Ah. So the newsletters contain targeted information as well.

I suspect it is still not classed as an international flight though.

If that was the case it would be make for some interesting SC's on the NAN runs.

QF 1-399 is a QF international flight, it would only make it interesting if you decided to route via SYD on QF20, which is pointless when you get 60 SC going via MEL and only 40 SC extra if QF20 is used in the case of the NAN runs.
