Double SC promo

So has anybody taken a flight yet under the double SC rules. Just curious if your double SC's have posted and how. I have had my points and SC's post for flights this week as per normal but no double SC. Wonder if they will post a week or so later like the QFF ones did:?:.

Thanks for that. Its always in the fine print somewhere. I just need to read a bit better:(

I actually just checked this morning because I took a flight and the normal status credits have come though but not the double :-)

Hi everyone,
It certainly is an interesting thread to read, interesting in that, its quite rare to find two segmented marketing groups discussing the different offers that they have been offered (or not offered in this case)!

Lets be clear about one thing, as an airline we are here to have more people flying with us, especially those that are true frequent flyers.
The status match program has enticed a lot of frequent flyers to 'look' at flying with us, and that's great.
What we need though, are people 'flying', and as a company, we will do what we can to ensure that you do that.

We absolutely are aware that the non-status matched Platinums and Golds haven't been included in this offer, and we're sorry about that.
Do we have other initiatives planned? Yes, and even though we are all great friends here in AFF, we aren't going to be letting any cats out of any bags!

Sorry to say that we cannot provide the highly sensitive information of future marketing plans.

We would hope that the good work and our continued support of the Australian frequent flying community would allow us some latitude to roll these plans out in due course.

To me it seems VA are more interested in trying to keep status matched Gold's and Platinum's rather than the BIS ones. BIS status pax are the one's that have essentially allowed VA to become the airline it is today, but keep excluding them from special offers and they may start looking elsewhere.

VA are always offering carrots for people to fly with them rather than letting the product speak for itself, does VA not have full confidence in it's current product offering compared to it's competitor's.

Will be interesting to see what VA offer BIS Gold's and Platinum's in the future.

On Monday, I am trying to firm up a trip to Perth in late November, so I can get this into the double SC promotion period (by the skin of my teeth). Alas, not a heap of reasons to fly interstate ATM, unless I can find some new or existing clients that want my services before the end of the year.

Yes and when you find said new clients, please ask them if they want my services as well ;)

Damn it, even with the QF no fly, I haven't had any flights to re-book on VA. Time to push some clients today, or miss out :o :(

Don't worry i took a return LA flight (in Econ mind you :( ) but my Double SC's have not yet posted either.

Just got an email.

I just got and I missed out on the last one I got Platinum the hard way.

Happy :-)

I just got the email too. It's a pity January is a quiet time for me and I've booked my travel for Nov/Dec. It makes the idea of a status run more appealing though.

I too was lucky enough to get the extension email as well.

Today work booked me BNE-MEL-BNE later this week (missing the previous deadline by 1 day!) and still has to book me BNE-SYD-BNE next week.

So an extra 100SCs I wasn't counting on! :D

I think we all got it - VA Marketing and Velocity must have been giving each other high fives when QF gave them the best present to back up their status match offer - one that advertising couldn't buy!

If this doesn't give the newly status matched all the impetus they needed to try out the VA experience, then they aren't like me.

Now I have another 2 weeks to convince my existing clients that they really need to talk to me before the end of the year. I can feel a trip to PER coming on :D

After all my griping about Delta SC earn not being specified yet, not only are the DL SCs up on the website now, but I'll be getting double SCs for the outrageous routings I've been working on for my flights in December. Virgin Australia, you really know how to win the heart and mind of a frequent flyer (a.k.a. status runner)!

:D:D:D

I got it too....
Are there any good ways to maximise this for a low cost? I'm based out of auckland, but is there anything from melbourne/tasmania which is good value? (Or from auckland)... I'm waiting to see if there is another sale in the next 2 weeks...
