Okay, seems that everybody wants the last word. The best part is that we Mods have the last word :D.

So our last words - this is where the off-topic comments stop, discussion from here is back on topic. We trust you all know what the topic is...

Second and final request before moderation action starts in earnest. Don't say you haven't been warned. Looks sternly in all directions :rolleyes:o_O;):(.

Loyalty bonus is bonus 50 SC when reaching 500 SC etc. Also won’t count to Platinum Bonus at 2400 SC on QF and Platinum One Rewards at e.g. 5000 SC on QF (though I think that last one is already the case).

I think DSC should still count towards lifetime status.

The change was announced a few months or so ago, I think.

Interesting. Well the fine print I found in the current DSC promo said bonus credits earned wouldn’t count towards loyalty bonus, so I was surprised that I got an email from QF to pick my bonus. Thanks for the heads up though.

You just had good timing with your flights.

Probably the change isn't coming till next month because they had promos still running where DSC would count towards loyalty bonuses. It would be simplest for their IT to not count DSC earned from any DSC promo towards loyalty bonuses once they make the change. They probably needed last year's DSC offer to finish.

It's fine for QF to provide more than what the offer's T&Cs say they will if they wish.

Any DSC you earn before the change will still count to further loyalty bonuses (if you're eligible) that membership year e.g. say you were at 800 QF SC (including DSC and not counting any SC from loyalty bonuses) when the change comes in you'd need 200 standard QF SCs before the end of your membership year to get the next loyalty bonus.

Now just hang on! What's the Qantas motto? Consistently inconsistent? One data point is good, but lets see what else happens.

I agree. We're just a few days in. It's conceivable (although I think unlikely) that Qantas could still be working on a way of preventing double status credits from posting in line with the revised T&Cs.

My first two sectors (flown this afternoon/tonight) have already posted their normal SC’s; so waiting for the DSC to now post...

Double Status Credits still count to the loyalty bonus for a few more weeks (till about March 13 if I recall correctly). Any DSC received after then shouldn’t count towards the loyalty bonus anymore sadly.

Where was this announced?

Bought GV on 05/02 booked flights on the 9th then flew on the 15th. Original SC have posted but no DSC as of yet will give it till Wednesday and make a call.

Does anyone know if I change the destination of a flex ticket booked under DSC whether I will still get the DSC?

Another question, slightly related. If I have a ticket booked (through work TA) that is eligible for DSC, and now I also need to go somewhere else after, is it possible to add new flights to existing booking / PNR to get the DSC. The example I’m referring to is that I need to be in MEL on a Friday for work (already booked under DSC) and now need to be in NYC on the following Monday so ideally would like to add the US trip to existing booking to get DSC (I would look to fly out of MEL to the US). Thanks for any replies!

The trick is the PNR. But I don’t think you can do any of this online.

Past experience would suggest that so long as the PNR remains the same after changes DSC should be credited, but YMMV.

Why?

Firstly the 6 weeks you need to wait before following up after you flew are nowhere near up yet.
Secondly I don’t think I’d call QF about DSC on such a booking.

Because others are reporting that the DSC have posted with in a week of flying it has now been well over a week and no positing of DSC. But maybe you are right and I should perhaps wait the 6 weeks.

My main concern is more so that as I registered as soon as the email came and in spite of a confirmation email, that perhaps, as others have experienced, it may not be flagged properly on my profile.

No, it was 7 business days for MrP as previously reported here.

Ansett, I agree with mviy on this one and suggest you wait prior to calling QF. From what you have posted you purchased GV on 5/2, which was after the T's and C's update. You have redeemed outside of the original booking window (1-5 Feb) also covered by the of the T's and C's update, finally your first leg was flown outside of the flying window (12 Feb to 20 Jan) the 15/2 flight may count.

So, if that's the case, Ansett, then you may get the DSC by about Tuesday. I'm hoping that you do. :)

I would see if your work TA could add the sector to the current booking, keeping the same PNR.
