My third experimental flight results are in. This was a flexible flight booked and ticketed on 2/2.

Originally booked for early Aug 18, cancelled and refunded as a voucher on 6 Feb and then re-booked for 22 Feb, so purchased within the promotional period (1-5 Feb), cancelled and re-booked outside of the promotional period and flown prior to 20 Jan 19. Important point for less frequent travelers, refunding as a voucher enables you to retain the original PNR.
Flown last Thursday 22 Feb 18, DSC posted today.

My final experimental flight results are in. This was a flexible flights booked and ticketed on 2/2.

This was simply a booking made for early Aug 18 and changed to 25 Feb, purchased and ticketed within the promotional period (1-5 Feb), it was changed outside of the promotional period and flown prior to 20 Jan 19.

Flown Sunday additional SC posted today. So that is 4 different scenarios of booking flights, changing flights out of the promotional period, flights that were turned back into vouchers and re-booked etc. The one common point across these bookings was the PNR create date was inside the original promotional period (1-5 Feb).

Sure there may be a few other scenarios that I could try but couldn’t be bothered. I am quite confident that any booking (flight or shell) that was with created between 1-5 Feb and provided I fly by 20 Jan 19 will result in DSCs.

As one final point, as I am aware of the zulu time issue all bookings I made were made after 11am AEDT 1 Feb 18.

Good news. Happy to hear that you received the DSCs. Sounds very, very promising for future bookings using the vouchers from 1-5 Feb. :)

Are the bonus credits posting after the complete trip has been undertaken? I.e for the ones posted have you flown all sectors on the itinerary?

I only ask as nothing has come through for flights I have taken which are well before the reports here, however havent completed the full itinerary. Flights were taken 17 Feb and vanilla all in line with dsc terms (cash fare).

Agree, I will not be flying on this type of booking until after Jul (rollover). I fly every week so I only took these 4 flights out of curiosity. I have already retained QF WP1 (LTG), VA WP so apart from the QF already booked back VA to bolster kris miles and SQ to have a crack at PPS or *A gold. Nothing better to do :)

You didn't book before 11am AEDST on the first day of the booking window, did you?

I haven't flown on this year's offer, but on all previous offers I've got DSC 2-3 Business days after receiving the standard status credits regardless of whether there are more flights on the booking still to fly or not.

As per the T&Cs you do have to wait 6 weeks before contacting QF to get your DSC if they are not credited automatically.

All these flights were one way, so yes the itinerary was complete. I was wanting to do a few experiments so booked them all individually. Last year I had DSC post mid itinerary, for flights booked from the 2016 and 2017 offer.

I received DSC on the outbound sector prior to taking the return sector. Ironically, DSC still haven't posted for the return sector and its been longer than it took for the DSC to post for the outbound sector. Go figure!

I've had mixed results from my experiments. I booked flex from ASP to ADL (13/2) using a voucher. I then booked flex ADL to LST (14/2)using another voucher. The normal SC's credited almost immediately. 30 for the first trip and 2 x 20 for the second trip (two legs)
The DSC's arrived today. I collected 30 for the first trip but only 20 for the second.
Anyone any ideas? Has anyone else received their DSC's for a two leg journey purchased by voucher? I'm not starving for them but am wondering if I should call Qantas and ask. I flew LST - ADL earlier in the week on a flight booked during the promotion period and that credited the DSC's today also but in that case it's credited the full 40.

Still no DSC almost 2 weeks after flight on GV bought in booking window but booking made after close of this window.

FYI - I've had DSC for separate legs flown on the same day post a couple of days apart. I'd give it some time first before calling. Technically speaking, you have to wait the six weeks for them anyway!

Without properly defining "the promotion period" this addition to the T&Cs is pretty useless really.

Agreed, and so there's 47 different definitions of promotion period,

The promotion "availability" period was until 5th February. The fact there has been away around (deferred bookings via gift vouchers) is great for the purchaser and is good while it lasts.

Given gift vouchers have a shelf-life of 12 months from date of purchase and the DSC applies for a period of 12 months and 2 weeks and a few days, all gift vouchers would expire first so making some preferred definitions of promotion period seem less likely than others.

Of Course understanding how it actually works rather than humble opinions is the great benefit & strength of the AFF forum as that in the end is what matters most and enables a faster track to higher status or more benefits of flying in the pointy end

No, that's the booking period.
