sigh of relief - my DSC from the recent promotion with a GV purchased on the last day after the suspect change of T&C posted today for a flight on Friday - happy dance all around and 7 more GV to go and 2 more from last September. Can I retain WP this year without too much outlay and will I make LTG this year???

Now to email Qantas to claim my SC from my Flexbiz in NZ on Deathstar (only 20 SC) but they all count

And my DSC from GV from last September for flight on Monday 9th April have just posted - another happy dance

We were playing a bit of roulette, well, I was, MrP none the wiser, as he didn’t need to be. Trying to get his credits to 2400 before end of April so we can gift SG to son. Trouble is, he needs around 180 and his last flight will be on April 30. Using delayed booking and flex fares he would have got there, but I decided to pull the plug on that target as I just can’t be bothered dealing with it all as we are off os in mid May. Also has 50 status credits as a bonus that I didn’t convert and will not do so now until May so it’s a start to his new year. He’s already LTG so no rush there. One sector of delayed booking has posted but not the other. Maybe it will come in the new year now :p

We've read so many different customer service outcomes in this thread.

Poor customer service is a symptom of the underlying problem. I'm wondering what kind of shoddy programming is happening to start with? Surely this would be underpinned by a computer program simply matching data and giving the tick of approval if all boxes are checked, so why do some post OK and some not? Has some geek programmed in moon phase dithering, or Spanish coughie bird migration or some such rubbish?

lucky. I had one of those delayed bookings from last Sep fly in late March (QF code on EK trans tas) and no love. It's not a huge deal as I should retain P1 without it, but would have been nice.

Good ol QF inconsistency :D

It should have applied if from the previous promo last year.

yeah thanks. that's why I mentiomned September. I know, should have put the comment in the thread for that promo. Sorry for confusion.

WOW now that seems real messy and over the top Let us know how it all goes.

Seems that QFF are deliberately trying to flob people off with no real intention of providing customer service.

One has to wonder if these call centers are QF staff or general center staff in a generic call center where the main priority is clearance rates and times of calls??
Will do mate. Meantime I'll be in the QP with the other SG's if you're looking for me :(

The CSR to whom I spoke this morning was adamant that posting of DSC was an automated process, but then couldn’t explain why only one sector of a four sector PNR had posted automatically.

I guess she was guessing.;)

A program cannot be that inconsistent.

I have a strange feeling double SCs have not been programmed into the system and are processed manually by the support team perhaps using SQL/extract that could require some sort of manual intervention.

It may also not be high on the list of daily tasks to perform.

Cashback payments/bonuses are also processed manually this way using an extract in some organisations.

Here’s something interesting: I just had double points post on a booking for which I already received DSC. The GV was booked during the DSC period, but redeemed during the double points period. So if it were looking at PNR creation date only then that wouldn’t have happened. There must be another factor at play.

Yes there is. It’s called Qantas IT.

I think you'll find that Qantas are processing these manually as per my previous post and your booking came up on both extracts.

I was under the impression you couldn't get multiple promos on the one booking. I avoided the double points promo thinking it would cancel out the DSC promo...

The T&Cs state that the first promo that you registered for that the booking is applicable for is the one that applies, I think.

"As a special bonus for you, we are also offering double Status Credits on all eligible Qantas operated domestic or international flights with a 'QF' flight number on your ticket."

Emphasis mine.

September's promo only had double POINTS on EK to NZ, LHR and SIN. The double SCs were only on QF. Unless we're talking about a different promo...

I posted in the August DSC thread, but worth repeating here. I got the DSC and double points as the timing for both overlapped when I booked.

Return flight delayed booking still not posted yet, a week later. It’s so random as outward leg posted within 2 days.
