We've had issues each year but this year issues appear to have increased. Whatever has happened does not make sense even if the change was to stop gift vouchers posting double SCs which they have not excluded as per my interpretation of the terms and conditions.

P.S. I'm reading the terms and conditions and it does state allow 6 weeks not 8 weeks as has been quoted by call centre staff.
Agree where does this 8 weeks stuff come from. Is it not contravening their own T&Cs. They seem to want to do that when it suits QF

I don't know where the 8 weeks originated but it appears to be multiple consultants.

I've sent email. See what happens.

Here's an interesting data point.

GV purchased during DSC. Redeemed during a 50% offer. Got the 50% bonus.

Something has changed!

Something may have changed, but knowing QF it's likely a miss more than anything else.. this whole thread illustrates the usual "consistently inconsistent" deal with QF

I don't find Qantas any more or less inconsistent than any other organization I deal with. It's pretty clear that they changed how they are determining your booking date.

Latest update. I just checked and my DSC's for my return flights on Tuesday have just appeared. That's a four leg trip, arranged last Thursday. Outgoing flights Monday, returning Tuesday. Outgoing DSC's yesterday, the rest today. Seems as though something's been fixed.
Now I've just got to wait another five weeks to sort out a couple of flights from before Easter.

It used to be based on PNR creation date. However, that would have put it in the DSC time.
Not necessarily. Which offer did you register for, first? If the 50% offer, that will take precedence, but I have the feeling you are going to say the DSC was first, in which case I have no idea, but I if so, I think that is a mistake on their part.

Following up on the OT subject of bonuses, I contacted Qantas and asked the question as my SC tally for the bonus continues to track 290 below my total.
The answer was that the SC's have to come from Qantas marketed flights and some of my SC's came from Jetstar. Interestingly the actual wording is "from eligible Qantas and Jetstar flights" so it seems a bit strange. I did however total up my bonus SC's and SC's from Jetstar and it came to 290, so that is indeed what they are doing.

It is my understanding is yes they do earn on Jetstar flights as long as it has a QF flight number. Had flights to Nadi recently operated by Fiji Airways with QF flight number and it worked.

"this promotion means any Domestic or International Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on your ticket where Status Credits are normally earned."

# Status Credits are earned on eligible Qantas, oneworld alliance airlines, Jetstar Airlines and Fiji Airways flights only - see the Airline Earning Tables. for details.

But who knows after all the inconsistent experiences people have had with QF on this issue.

So you're saying it's no longer based on PNR creation date, for the purposes of determining offers?

Obviously I wasn't clear enough.

I purchased a Gift Voucher during the DSC promotion. This is when the PNR was created.

I then used it during a 50% bonus period. Obviously I already had the GV, so the 50% offer was after the DSC.

If it was PNR creation date that mattered, it would have been Double
If it was first registered, it would have been Double.

I got the 50% bonus.

If it's not eight weeks, I'd wait a bit and complain. You never know, you might get the DSC's as well. Inconsistency cuts both ways!

It's a truly chaotic system. I currently have a total of 1600 SC's for this year. With regard to attaining P1, I have 1450. With regard to my next loyalty bonus, I'm at 1310!

Their online system clearly is inaccurate showing the number of points for a loyalty bonus. I had this confirmed on the phone yesterday. I'm currently sitting on 610 SC. I called to query why I hadn't received my loyalty bonus. Was explained to me that 75 SC came from my ANZ card and another 50 SC were from a previous loyalty bonus, meaning I was only 485 SC towards the current bonus. Online is shows I've earned 560 SC towards my next loyalty bonus!

Your temping me to book a status run now. With a targeted 50% bonus ending tomorrow I could use a GV to book a long weekend trip to CHC in J. DSC + 50% bonus would be awesome.

All this talk of issues and things not working had got me thinking to waste it on a cheap flight at Christmas or something if they dont work anymore. But if there is a chance to get something like this maybe i should go for it

Are any of the 560 from other OW carriers or DSCs, also the other "50 SC from a previous loyalty bonus" what were these from I thought the loyalty bonus kicked in at 500 SC.

QF tightened up the rules earlier in the year amount what SC count towards the loyalty bonus.

Can anyone give me any guidance as to what an "eligible Qantas or Jetstar flight" is? Is it in fact a flight with a QF number?
Talking to the Qantas lady today, she said "Qantas marketed flight". Now, if I go into the Qantas website and look for a flight from Launceston to Sydney, the only direct flight will be Jetstar. If I select that flight, I'll be directed to the Jetstar website. All the prices and details will change and I'll end up with a JQ number. Surely that is still a Qantas marketed flight? I obtained it by searching on the Qantas website. It was Qantas who redirected me to the Jetstar site, therefore, regardless of who I finalised the transaction with, they marketed the flight?

DSC's appear to count. Previous loyalty bonuses do not. It's possible to delay claiming a loyalty bonus from previous year so that it falls in the current year. I'm currently trying to figure whether Jetstar flights count or not. My experience this year has been inconsistent.
