T & Cs state "Flight gift vouchers purchased but not redeemed for an eligible flight booking during the promotion period will not earn double Status Credits". IMO you could look at this two ways
If you had to argue a case is the promotion period the 5 days to book a flight or the 11 month period where the flight must be taken?

It's all so badly worded that you could argue either, their apparent intention notwithstanding.

It could be either.

Edit: However, QF have left themselves open to also having to grant the latter, due to poor wording, even though the intention may have been to apply only to the other.

As much as I love and admire how we AFF people "push the envelope", I offer my experiences with this DSC promotion....

During the promo period, I booked a few big flights. No gift vouchers, I just did what IMHO the intended promotion was - book flights.

And lo and behold, each time I have flown on said flights, the DSC appear within a day or two of the flights. Flawlessly.

Hmmmmmm. :)

Yes would be an interesting question to ask QF what their definition of promotion period is.

Yes, their system is far from perfect. ;)

I am so glad I:

1. Registered a couple of days after getting the DSC offer (to obviate any issue with Zulu time)
2. Didn't buy GV's (so no issues with possible issues of non-crediting, or crediting at a lower rate)
3. Booked my flights for the next month that I knew I was needing to take
4. Flew them without needing to make any changes
5. Got credited with the standard SC's within 1 day of the flown date and DSC within 4-5 days

and don't have to go through all this palava that others are having to endure

Going through a mountain of popcorn though :D.

I haven't got any DSC from a bog standard registration and fly yet that first leg was on 10 April, last leg 17th. Normally I get the first leg within 5 days at the outside. I might shake them up on Monday. But there WAS a hiccup with the registration - didn't get the "You've registered" email the first time.

I actually booked a heap of stuff BEFORE I got the rego email, rang the desk and they said they'd put a note on file.

I re-registered, got email and then cancelled and rebooked previous bookings. Just to be sure.

But nothing yet and IME they're usually very quick with crediting DSC

So it seems glitches are possible even without GV's - Whoda thunk it!

Maybe we can all agree, that regardless of this promos foibles, it does not bode well for the GV work-around into the future?

I don’t know about that. Troubles seem to be weighted towards those with GVs, but there are also people with regular up-and-down bookings who are having problems (and intermittent ones - some bookings post and others don’t).

And you too! :D

So for all the people saying you won't get DSC on GV, I've had three flights all using GV and all DSC have posted within 3 days

And you are saying “back at ya!” :)

Love it!

May I ask did those flights involve multiple legs and when did they occur? My impression is that there was an issue but I'm not sure there is now.

OT but I do definitely agree QF have signalled their intentions by the T&C change and the fact that there seems to be more issues for people using GV's. I do agree the futture will see the T&C's as revised be endorced more.

And you know I'm not going to whine about it if that is the result.

C'mon, don't knock it. Salt of life and sometimes the discussion pays dividends.

I do not think anyone is saying they won’t post. JohnK has reported issues from the outset and others on this thread have realised they booked early and came unstuck with CMT issues. I posted back in Feb I have used vouchers on 4-5 occasions, changed dates and routes (all the normal changes I often make) just to see if anything had changed and nothing had, additional SC posted within a couple of days. Others are reporting different problems.

The comments made at post #1069 are not related to DSC however they are vouchers for double points purchased knowing full well the T’s and C’s had changed found here. I just thought stuff it purchased a few and see what happens, changing the wording does not mean they have changed their systems. The first 2 worked as suspected it was only the last trip from Sunday that has not posted double points within 2-3 days. I have another this Sunday so I will wait and see what happens, if I don’t get them I will not get upset. I also have some upcoming DSC flights as I am just using up vouchers and will be keen to see if the outcome is any different to Feb/ Mar.

One final point also in relation to the booking window we all know offers say something like book between 12.01am (AEDT) DD MMM and 11.59pm (AEDT) DD MMM. Understanding that booking engine works on CMT, I did book a proper flight in the double points period at around 08:15 (AEDT) on 6 Mar 18 so around 8 hours past the official close window. Double points posted. It was just an experiment to see what would happen and if they had not posted I would not have cared. Just a reference point for the future.
