Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

You'd think this would have been tested before rollout, nevertheless, thanks to all for your replies to my email. I will just have to wait. Luckily my anniversary is not until end November. I wonder if they will grant status retrospectively if your anniversary is four weeks after you fly and you need the DSCs to qualify?
Yes, according to reading of this thread and last year’s thread.

Speaking of something mentioned in last year’s thread, I’m going to attempt a status run to AKL in a few weeks time. Looking forward to much time flying and not much time sleeping!

For whatever reason, they are often slow to post DSC early in the promotion period.

I've never seen them get to "almost immediate". At best I've seen them 2-3 days after the actual flight posts.
That qualifies for "almost immediately".

I should be so lucky to do a status run. I almost did one during covid but Qantas came to the party, although friends of mine did status runs. This year my flying may be sporadic so you never know, I might need a status run to keep WP for a long-haul next year. EK first class lounge here I come!

If there is one bit of Qantas IT that works well, it's the backdating of SCs.

Or maybe they've got one person locked away in a room processing it all and he gets a one month break every year.

8 min to come up with sed -i 's/2023/2024/g'
8 weeks to test, debug, perf test, change manage and blue green the code.
... and the WEKs would still stuff it up somehow. Maybe

Nah this is a pretty solid well run process. Once they get it going it's pretty reliable.

And yes I am probably going to hell (via SYD) for writing that. Hopefully delayed...

Delayed is sometimes good. You can stay longer in the lounge. But then, if you miss the curfew, or miss a meeting, e.g. Luxon, then you're stf..d.

Let me know how it is please. My FF year is the financial year so I have a 2 x PER-MEL-SYD-AKL-SYD-MEL-BNE-PER for two July weekends.

Enjoy! It was fun last year. Tiring, but fun - especially doing it twice within a couple of days of one another. Doing one run next month to solidify my status for 24/25, but Qantas have just started playing silly buggers with my itinerary…

I think Qantas have messed around with every status run I've done which is very stressful when you've had to book separately to get around their limitations. The AKL one - departed four hours late. It was the return leg but very tiring.

It was your posts that inspired me to give it a go. I’m only doing one, and I did chicken out and book a room at the airport Pullman, but I imagine I won’t be spending much time in that room!

Yeah, that’s not ideal. In my case, they’ve “cancelled” two of my flights in my multi-city return leg. In some respects it actually makes for a less problematic return as far as repositioning flights are concerned, but will mean I’ll need to submit an ORC claim or find a more lucrative alternative.

Last year I was a man on a mission and had to get my trips done quickly (to suit my purposes). No such issues this year, so I’m doing mine in a more leisurely fashion this time. Accommodation booked at the airport Novotel.

BTW how do Qantas notify you of changes to your itinerary - I'm half expecting them to try to play silly buggers with mine - especially as the failings of the multi-city engine resulted in it being spread across three PNR's

Travelling with a colleague last week WLG-BNE. He was bumped from the flight and offered an alternative route, WLG-AKL-BNE. It appeared in a message and in the Qantas app on the morning of travel.

I got an email…

…and can see the impacts against my booking in the app…
