PER-MEL, cash Y for 1 and CR J (PC+ SC's) for the other. MEL-SYD-AKL-SYD-MEL, cash J. MEL-BNE-PER, CR (PC+ SC's). Bookings linked so fingers crossed!!That is a great run. Did you book this using $ or as CR? Also, assuming you are doing this in J.
I'm waiting for them to try to boot me off QF1 & QF2 onto other flights to Singapore - they made it very hard to book them!In under 2 weeks from booking DSC QF already sent minor changes and flight cancellations on multiple flights for January next year.
Alternate options offered online not suitable but a call managed to preserve my routing on next best option.
Remains to be seen how many more changes there will be.
Similar changes on same NZ trip this year made for a very long day.

Unlikely QF1 or 2 would be cancelled or significantly retimed.I'm waiting for them to try to boot me off QF1 & QF2 onto other flights to Singapore - they made it very hard to book them!
I don't expect them to cancel it, I am just expecting to get bumped off it onto an earlier flight to Singapore - that is what happened last time I booked QF1Unlikely QF1 or 2 would be cancelled or significantly retimed.
The flight that was cancelled for me was a mel-syd so plenty of other earlier or later options, plus re-timing of flights out of AKL to be earlier instead of the original more convenient time. So routes with lots more flights.
That's not been my experience and have taken QF1 both as a CR and cash fare.I don't expect them to cancel it, I am just expecting to get bumped off it onto an earlier flight to Singapore - that is what happened last time I booked QF1
I agree with part one.QF got your hard earned now (via the ultra popular DSC booking bonanza) and that's what they ( & shareholders) really care about.
Now they've enhanced their schedule.
QF processes 101.
Yes.I agree with part one.
Schedule planning and changes though? Quite separate functions and go on endlessly at all airlines on an ongoing basis. It's absolutely not uncommon to see changes 6-9 months out.
Correlation doesn't equal causation which is what you're seemingly implying?

I wouldn't worry about preserving your routing if it's just for the SC.
Just out of potential interest (should my flights get stuffed around), what paperwork needs to be kept?I wouldn't worry about preserving your routing if it's just for the SC.
Schedule changes are the perfect reason to switch to the most direct/efficient route and then request ORC. Did it for several different bookings last DSC no issue. You just need to keep some paperwork and set yourself a reminder to request the ORC after the flights have taken place - if the departure has wifi I usually submit all the documentation while on the flight itself.

Headline message. Never delete those emails until flown and correctly credited! For the best chance of getting the QFF team to credit the ORC over email on the first try, I've had 100% success sending them the below four attachments:
- E-ticket PDF as booked
- Schedule change notification email/SMS
- Boarding pass as flown
- Double status credits registration email (where relevant)
