Earn 10 SC per 2000 WWR converted to QFF (up to 50 SC) promo

I guess it would help if more AFF members call the QFF line to see if Qantas gives the same answer I was given.
I personally needed to make a decision yesterday (last day of a special offer at BigW to score the points I needed), and the person I had on the phone sounded like she knew what she was talking about.

Now waiting to see those SC, re-qualifying WP will be difficult for me this time.

I don't see the problem. There is more than enough evidence to screenshot in this thread alone to justify an expectation the offers are not customer targetted specifically. So just capture all that, monitor your expected points accrual closely and complain when they don't arrive.

Just cracked the 2000 WW points in Big W buying bulk cheap Vegemite. Got the e-mail almost immediately "Your 2000 Woolworths Points have converted to 1000 Qantas Points". No mention of 10 SC, but hardly surprising as it's a WW e-mail not a Qantas one, so undoubtedly not updated to cover limited time promotional QFF offers.

When someone eventually gets the 10SC credit from this, can you please post a screenshot of how it appears in the activity statement? I'm particularly interested in whether the 'earn date' is backdated or not.

I disagree with this. No where is this published on a public website (at least not that anyone has shown here?) and clearly some have gotten the email offer and many others have not.. plus the fact that some had the offer mentioned in their monthly summary (who also had the initial email offer) yet those who did not get that email there was no mention in the newsletter. Those all say "targeted" to me.

I mean when QF run global promotions like DSC where their emails often don't get out to all people they have it on their public website - and that's how we know it's global.

So usually I would agree that not receiving the initial offer email in and of itself is no real confirmation, but I think that, plus no mention in the monthly summary email and no mention in a public website that I know of? I wouldn't hold my breath..

by all means of course could complain, use the screen shots etc and good luck to any that do - it may work - and that would be great :)

I see it a little differently that's all :)

I joined the BP scheme yesterday, got the points and the 10 SC this evening. I bought Vegemite @ $3/jar from Big W today (OzBargain deal - normally $6.50ea.) to tip me over the 2000 threshold for WWR. I got the e-mail they had converted to 1000 QFF on my phone before I had even got back home again. I'll post back the screenshot when I get the 10 SC for that too.

That shouldn't matter:
On the strength of that I have done one transaction with a number of vouchers. Have already got the points but no SC as yet. I did receive the email about this promotion.

Once I start flying again I'll be that little bit closer to lifetime status. I would be surprised if this promotion runs again unless there is a second wave lockdown.

I apologise if this isn’t the right place to ask but do status credits last a year from when they’re earned? For example I only recently started using an old QFF as I’ve always typically flown Virgin and partners due to platinum status. My account says 70 days left and 300 credits needed to attain silver but would any credits earned between now and that 70 days cut off expire after 70 days or is it like Velocity in that they won’t expire until a year after I earned them?

For Qantas they will expire at the end of your membership year irrespective of when they were earned, meaning some credits last 365 days others 1 day.

So if you are not going to get 300 SC in the next 70 days then the only benefit of the extra SC is for the Lifetime Status Credits tally. However if you haven't been flying QF much you're likely many, many years away from Lifetime Status if you reach it at all.

As of the last few years I’ve been flying yearly to Israel, South Africa and US/UK. Always with Virgin and partners and business class so took very little time to reach platinum. Now the way things have gone I will switch permanently to Qantas if VA don’t pull through or if their alliances with SG and DL are severed. I’m still chasing Qantas points from EL AL flights a month ago. This year is a write off anyway so have plenty of time to assess it all and switch credit cards if I need to. Sorry for derailing the thread but thanks for the heads up.

LifeTime Silver is 7000 SCs, Lifetime Gold is 14000 SCs and Lifetime Platinum is 75000 SC

So if starting from scratch, if Platinum is realistic for you each year you could achieve Lifetime Silver in say 5-6 years.

50 SC is a small portion of 7000 but if you're getting closer to the figure then it can be more significant. Say you are 1000 SC to go then 50 SC is 5%. Not nothing but some meaningful progress.

Even if Lifetime Status isn't coming soon the Lifetime SC are still nice to have and if you'd get it from spending you would have done anyway then it's a nice bonus.

Ultimately we can't bank on LTSC amounts staying as they are (although given the current situation, I suspect it is a safer bet than it was 12 months ago) so there is some value in progressing faster rather than slower even if it is only 50SC, to not miss the boat should QF enhance the LTSC tiers

So think I've found a cheap spend loop hole - by buying Uber $50 gift cards. Per $50 1k WOW points. Points reflect on receipt straight away....tbc on SC presuming will credit in coming week. See here: Earn 400 Points on $20 Google Play or Netflix Gift Card | 1000 Points on $50 Google Play, Uber or Netflix Gift Card @ Woolworths . If it works that's $500 all up for the full 50 SC. And you can use the uber credit for rides and/or food. Expiry is 3 years from using the gift card code also. Promo ends this Tuesday evening.

It works, but I'm hoping and holding out for one of their 2,000 Points on a $50 card promotion....Might end up screwing myself over though!

What's the general consensus on backdating SC ? My yearly rollover is in 13 days and I am awaiting them final 10 SC to get me the next tier. If the SC takes longer than 13 days to appear in my account is that just bad luck for me ? The only reason why I purchased the netflix voucher was for the SC.
