Earn 10 SC per 2000 WWR converted to QFF (up to 50 SC) promo

I'm about to buy 3x iPhone 8 SE phones. Is there anyway I can convert buying 3x iPhone SE's into another 10SC?
I suppose you could buy the Visa gift cards from BigW as well. The promo ends tomorrow and you get 1000 WWR points per card. Buy a stack of cards and buy the phones with the cards. You'll earn a lot more points that way but you just have to work out if its worth the activation fee for each card.

Still seems a bit odd it is not on anyone’s website if it is not targeted. Just got a QF marketing email about earning points with grocery shopping. No reference at all to SCs.

Earn even more Qantas Points with Woolworths Rewards

Choose Qantas Points with Woolworths Rewards and every 2,000 Woolworths Points will convert to 1,000 Qantas Points. That's on top of the points you earn using your Qantas Points earning card.*

Online reviews aren’t great for those cards. Seems to be very poor acceptance by retailers. .... based on the reviews. I don’t have personal experience.

I've used them before along with the Coles gift MasterCards and haven't had any dramas with either though I can't say I've used them extensively. They've never declined on me. The one which I've had dramas with is the Vanilla brand.

It's not. I buy the gift cards through a scheme attached to my employer run by a company called RewardGateway. I pay 95% of the face value of the gift card, so effectively a blanket 5% discount on everything. But I have to buy them througn that portal, not from Big W themselves. But I can pay for them with my Citibank Signature FFFL card which earns Velocity points surcharge-free.

So yeah, I'll get a bunch of Velocity points for the purchase of the gift cards with a 5% discount, then a bunch of QFF points for using the cards and then the final 10 SC points to tip me over the threshold into gold-land as well.

The only thing I will say they do suck for is that they don't come with a scanable barcode you can just scan at the reader like the Coles ones do. They have a long 10-digit bumber you have to manually input, which is painful and laborious. It's like manually keying in your credit card number + 4-digit PIN each time to buy something. That's the big downside, but you put up with it knowing you're saving 5% each time. They really need to get with Coles on the barcode implementation

I have a heap of experience using them and they work brilliantly. Accepted everywhere I go with them. I haven't used a real credit card in any Dan Murphys, Woolworths or Caltex petrol station in over a year. Haven't yet tried to use one in a Big W, but that's soon to change.

I buy the $500 ones and you'd need a fair bit of confidence in them to be doing that. I've never bought less than $500 cards and if there were bigger value ones than that available to me, I'd buy those instead. $500 gift cards cost me $475

Download the Woolworths Rewards app - I got an offer of 3000 WW points as a welcome bonus for downloading the app.
1500 QF points for free ;)

EDIT - for team members only.

There are some reports on another thread that it's also targeted:

My (WP) email this morning showing May Qantas Points balance etc has the Status Credits offer:

Ts&Cs does not say when the promo started, just that it ends 30 June.

Another (NB, zero balance, recently joined) family member received their balance email which did not mention the offer but they DID receive a targeted email about shopping for WOW groceries and earn SCs last week (5th May).

Maybe @Mattg could clarify start date for the promotion with Qantas??

Not restricted to just staff, but presumably targeted. Received an email (I am not WW staff), offering the 3,000 points for downloading the new app. Downloaded it, logged in, and one of the offers (with and expiry of 26 May) was "Your exclusive gift - 3000 points". I have clicked on it, and it now shows as redeemed. Points will take a little time to credit.

I just got my monthly balance update / newsletter and this Woolworths SC offer is not mentioned on it.

A family member who got the original offer email on 5th May also got their monthly balance update today and the Woolworths SC offer is listed in their balance update email.

How this offer is being communicated does seem to me like it could be targetted.

The fact that there's at least two versions of the original offer email on the 5th of May (to existing and non-existing Woolworths Rewards members) suggests to me that a bit more thought went into sending out the offer emails.

I only just discovered the new app yesterday while on a chat with the WW CSR as to why I couldn't log into my account via the webpage and why my Woolworths Money app on my phone has ceased updating its points counter. She told me my Woolworths Money app isn't the Woolworths app and that I need to get the new one. I looked and can't believe how many bloody Woolworths apps there are! It's insane. How anyone is supposed to be able to find the 'official' Woolworths app in a minefield of three pages of Woolworths apps is beyond me.

I eventually found the new all orange one only to find that its so new and so exclusive as to require nothing short of iOS 12 to even run that I have to wait until I buy a new phone to even be able to use it. Can't buy a new phone of course until Big W actually get some stock and can't check when that will be because I can't download the app.

I too received this email as a WP. I did not receive the original email offer for the 10SC. I think this lends even more weight to this offer not being targeted, just sloppy marketing by QF.

Same here although I am not a WP.

It's very weird - I got both the original email and the promotion was mentioned in my May Points Balance but I have zero status with Qantas.

If only WR thought I was this marketable, the last bonus points offer I used didn't even come from them, it was that publically available 3x points one.

I too didn’t get the original email, but did received an email a couple of days ago that mentioned shopping for points but didn’t mention SCs, but now have the WP newsletter email that does mention the SCs.

Possibly the marketing staff have been mostly stood down, and there are too few left, sending too many emails.

Nice to have an email confirmation though. I’ll save that one :)

cheers skip.

I purchased a Netflix gift card this morning and my point balance got to 2000 ww and transferred straight away to 1000 Qantas points. Now the wait begins for them 10 SC. The BP offer took four days to come through so maybe I can expect something similar.

Well interesting that my monthly balance email also did not mention this offer (and I did not get the email) - that sure sounds targeted to me..
