1 - I would not trust these sorts of posts on OzB. Look at the amount of incorrect info people post, like charging annual fee to people who are on free for life, PayAll being rejected because it's being shut down, NAB is going to ruin the Citi Plus account. How many times have we heard stuffs like this before?

2 - Golden goose doesn't live forever. Party doesn't last forever
NAB did ruin the Citi Plus account. Killed it off in fact. Let's hope that's all OZB has gotten right and the golden payall goose isn't killed off.

they did provide a like for like account though, had no issues using the card for ATM withdrawals and purchases in Japan last month.

in fact, the biggest benefit is i didn't need to call them to unlock my card like i had to for Citi every time i went overseas due to lack of use in Oz.

Indeed, the only thing missing is fee free withdrawls in Thailand and the US that Citibank ATMs offered.

Just saw a post there, someone says they received this email

, im devastated

What a shame.

The only benefit is that the $20k credit limit on my Prestige has been holding a bit of a noose around my ability to churn other cards, so at lease I’ll be able to apply more freely now.

I haven't received any emails from Citibank, has anyone else?
I'll be closing this card if true - super disappointed but as others have said, surprising it lasted this long.

Nope

My card is free for life, and it comes with 2x Priority Pass visits, so I'm still getting something for nothing, hence I'm not going to close this card. My thinking was like your thinking now around 20 years ago when Diners Club offered me a free card, hence I didn't take it. I so regret my mistake.

Email has just arrived for me too. I'll be reducing the limit to the minumum and use occasionally. I'm on a FFFL deal and can use the Priority Pass.

Yes, it was nice while it lasted. I will hopefully get to use the points it generated for a SQ J flight back from NYC, and if so, will toast Citi for its generosity...

Does Citi do pro rata refunds on annual fees? Have a trip in April, so tempted to hold the card for a couple of months after renewal (Feb) for the Priority Pass benefits.

OK, my e-mail just arrived. I'll copy and paste, including the bold fonts in the e-mail.

Don't know but I sure as hell will be asking for a pro rata refund considering the only reason I have the card is now gone. Will probably go to AFCA if they say no.

I sincerely wish you good luck with that, but from vast AFCA experience, I would suggest your chances of success are vanishingly small.

Do I trust that NAB/Citi will cancel my scheduled PayAll transactions or will they mess something up. Wondering whether I should cancel my remaining PayAll transactions myself before mid January.
