Earning QF status credits with Finnair

I did ask why the excluded AY flight codes are not published on the Qantas website. They responded that they have their own earning tables that they cannot share with me.
Wow! So they're saying that they can arbitrarily refuse points/status earn based on some super secret tables that they cannot publish, are corporate in confidence and completely contradict the terms and conditions presented to consumers on their website? Sounds like some grounds for engaging the Airline Customer Advocate.

No, I haven't tried submitting with QR codes... I guess I can give it a shot. But I am not optimistic about hat since the reviews seems to focus only on the marketed/purchased flight code, not the operated flight code.

As per my post, it worked for me - try it

Sound like bo$$ocks to me.

I’m wondering if the agent is confused with AY codeshares (QF codes) that would earn better than native AY (or other OW codeshares on AY metal)?

We were concerned to read about @scott.in.the.clouds' experience, so we contacted Qantas and asked them to look into this.

It turns out that @scott.in.the.clouds was indeed entitled to points and status credits, as we all thought, but Qantas hadn't updated its systems since Finnair began selling QR codeshare flights in the AY6001-6999 flight number range.

Qantas has since updated its systems and credited the OP with the correct points and status credits. So, hopefully this won't catch anyone else out in the future!

I wonder my Malaysia Air Business class from Sydney to Colombo will be checked too since i was only given economy based points.. Since that I moved to Singapore air flights since having qantas life gold mean nothing..

Sadly, that's not a mistake because Qantas has actually designed its program so that Malaysia Airlines Business Class flights earn at Economy rates...

Have ongoing drama with Qantas FF following business class return to UK on Emirates re points and status credits . Strange thing was this was a 4 sector journey via Dubai and they QF automatically credited one sector air miles only ! They could not clearly explain why one sector only under a bonefde return booking ref was credited and the other 3 sectors were not ! Rejecting claim once on line for spurious reasons. , I with great difficulty and international calls I tried again on QF hotline and that was even more frustrating trying to get any logic or sense for the rejection of 3 out of 4 sectors from call centre staff and even supervisors!. One supervisor eventually said they would look at it again and contact Emirates directly, but after a few days I again received another algorithmic text rejection. I am about to give up but before I do I am keen to know if any other Qantas frequent flyers with emirates tickets have had similar outcomes. It seemed to me that Qantas on lines attitude is to immediately reject any claim, leaving it up to you the FF member ( gold card btw) to fight back.

If you book direct with EK (and EK flight numbers), then you only earn miles and NO Status Credits.

Even booking with QF, they sometime present options that include EK flights with EK codes - they also only earn points (not SCs). Any sector must have a QF code to earn both points and SCs.

Back to your initial issue, it's not uncommon for delays in passing flights flown info from the operating carrier to the FF partner (in this case QF).

How long has it been since you flew? It can take a few weeks and the flights may appear by themselves. Otherwise, emailing the details to QFF can be an options rather than speaking to someone.

I have an issue similar to this but with a QATAR flight operated by Malaysian.

23-Nov-2024
QR DOH 4991/DOHA KUL INELIGIBLE FLIGHT/23-NOV-2024 - - -
16-Nov-2024
QR KUL 4992/KUALA LUMPUR DOH INELIGIBLE FLIGHT/16-NOV-2024 ---

The flights were H-> economy restricted
Both of my flights between KUL and DOH return were deemed to be inelligible, despite the QANTAS web site stating...

Qatar Airways (QR) (https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...ables/earn-category-tables.html#qatar-airways)

Qantas Points and Status Credits are earned on all eligible booking classes, except on Qatar Airways codeshare Flights operated by an airline other than Qantas or a oneworld member airline.
* Effective for travel on and from 1 October 2021, P class will earn at the Business Frequent Flyer Earn Category.
See our points calculator for the easiest way to find out how many Qantas Points and Status Credits you'll earn, or visit the partner airline tables.

any ideas about how to get my flights credited
thanks

Great work AFF team.

Out of interest, does QFF inflict the QR ‘punishment’ on the AY marketed QR operated flights (ie less SC) like they would if you flew QR marketed and operated? Or does flying AY code get you better SC earn?

It’s the sector that counts.

I flew DOH-MAD QR code, IB metal and earned exactly the same as a QR code.

Similarly, those AA J fares CGK-DOH-JFK will earn the same SCs with AA or QR codes but you will earn better points due to the QF/AA partnership.
