We were concerned to read about
@scott.in.the.clouds' experience, so we contacted Qantas and asked them to look into this.
It turns out that
@scott.in.the.clouds was indeed entitled to points and status credits, as we all thought, but Qantas hadn't updated its systems since Finnair began selling QR codeshare flights in the AY6001-6999 flight number range.
Qantas has since updated its systems and credited the OP with the correct points and status credits. So, hopefully this won't catch anyone else out in the future!
