EDR Targeted Bonus Point Promotions

Ok, its Friday morning, two shopping days to go before Christmas...

I still have heaps of shopping to do, some of it will be from Big W & DSE, but have been waiting for my "loyalty bonus offer" email...I guess this week we all are expected to do the shopping for no additional reward :(

Shame there are no bonii available this week, but I guess they realise that they handed out enough QFF last weekend with the targeted 5x QFF bonus at the Supermarket...

Lets hope for a nice EDR bonus Christmas present on Sunday night to use with the boxing day sales...!

My QFF points have hit :D:D:D

So did mine :p Can someone explain how and the rationale behind crediting the fuel vouchers/points to QFF rather than taking them at the pump. My little brain can't work that one out.

This has to do with each individuals perception of QFF point value.

Assume a 60l fill.

8c / litre discount @ 60l = $4.80

Assuming QFF = $0.01 / point = 60 x 4 = 240 points = $2.40 of redeemable value

Assuming QFF = $0.03 / point = 60 x 4 = 240 points = $7.20 of redeemable value

In the first case using your voucher for QFF points might be a less than ideal financial choice, though if points are hard to come by then it may still be a valid choice. QF themselves sell points for something like $0.022 each, so obtaining them cheaper than that may still serve your purposes.

If one value points at $0.02 or greater then its probably both a good financial and good accrual choice.

I struggle to gain enough points myself and put a nominal value of 2-3c / point on my QFF stash, so for me its an easy choice to push my fuel vouchers to QFF.

Thank you. I will have to mull this over. Methinks it will be a hard sell for Mr SW to forgo 30c per litre.

I'm not getting that one over here, but don't forget that 30c/litre = 15 points per litre (usually), so:

60l = 60x 0.3 = $18

60l = 60x 15 = 900 x 0.03 = $27 of value for me, higher still for some folks as they value their points even more highly.

60l @ say $1.50 / litre = $90 and you will get 900 points for that spend. That $1:10 earn rate ... really nice

How : Log onto EDR and choose QFF rather than discount.

Why : I don't pay for the fuel.

As has been mentioned here before, as a sole trader, why would I take the fuel discount since it would in effect increase my taxable income...

Based on fuel being a 100% tax deductible expense, for me it is better to collect the QFF and to lower my taxable income...!

I've just registered Mrs LW and opted for the QFF points and not discount, as well as changing mine.

With 8c ones coming out of our proverbial and a couple of 30c ones, after 1 Jan I'll be back filling up at Woolies Caltex and utilising the extra earn - we need all the QFF points we can earn for a holiday later in 2012.

Will this be another TR odyssey ?

Let me finish the last one - should have some time over Xmas.

Back to Woolies today for late minute replacements - Nineth Island Pinot Noir and Brown Brothers White Moscato were depleted because of last minute gifts to friends that popped over.

That's it - no more shopping. Post Xmas sales here we come

Why give a URL without giving the correct one?

Because by page 40 (on the iPhone) one would hope you know them. If you don't know how to find QFF, I think you're on the wrong forums. :-)
