I have received an offer of spend $180 to receive 750 points. Given my shopping rarely exceeds $80 (which they obviously know) they are kidding themselves that I would find the offer attractive.

Two family members got spend $50 for 250 points. 250 points is okay for $30 or $35 but not worth it at $50. I'll probably make a tiny shop early in the week and do my big $90 shop later in the week in order to qualify for the last week of the 4 week promotion.

Despite not officially being part of WW, Dick Smith vouchers don't earn EDR. From experience at weekend WISH egift cards do not work at Dick Smith. Physical WISH cards probably do (I was told they would anyway). You can get Dick Smith vouchers to the exact value of the purchase in WW.

Just an update for you all, I received the points on 10 September to my Qantas account. The actual shop was delivered on Sunday 30 August.

Yesterday in WW, I saw WISH cards that still had the DSE logo. So I am a bit curious now?

I was in Dick Smith and asked if they could accept a physical WISH card (before I bought anything). They said that they would try, entered the number/PIN and said that it would work. I ended up spending more than was on the card and bought a Dick Smith voucher from WW (with an egift card) so didn't test it for definite

Dick Smith do accept WW gift cards for all in-store purchases.

The PE guys were smart enough not to disenfranchise all the existing shoppers who spent at Dick Smith from the days of when it was owned by Woolworths. In fact the PE guys thought carefully about this and realised that just as we 'arbitrage' the gift cards - so could they. It is a net cost to WoW that they allow Dick Smith to use their gift cards.

HOW SO?

You buy your WoW GC at 5% off and buy something at DS.

DS bills WoW at 100 cents in the dollar.

So WoW faces a cost of 5% for every amount I spend at DS.

DS also competes with WoW in many product lines (think Big W audio/video etc).

I wonder how long it will take WoW to wake-up to this.

BTW - for those more 'switched-on' there was NOTHING in the agreement with DS where DS pays a fee for accepting WoW GCs. Neither was it mentioned (even vaguely without an amount stated) when asked at several analyst and results briefings.

LONG MAY IT LAST!

Does raise the question whether the amount WoW pays for any 3rd party GC it sells (and Coles for that matter) is greater than the 5% or 7.5% discount we can access?

I got this stupendous offer today ... 30% off Milo Cereal Protein Clusters.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Milo and will eat it straight out of the tin (and lots of it LOL) but I think the normal Milo cereal is horrible and tastes nothing like Milo, so I don't think I'll be rushing to take advantage of this one.

Spent my $90 in order to get the $100 off. According to the receipt the discount won't be loaded until Thursday 8 October. I'll have to do some shopping somewhere else before then.

One of our accounts got a double points offer. I think EDR are a day late on their offers. The offer was valid from today and there was a note on the offer saying that shopping trips done today would qualify for double points provided the offer was activated before the end of the offer period.
