Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

Just received notification from Qantas.

Was booked in First on points.

Have clicked on "change flights" but no suitable flights found.

I assume this is the same for people booked in business on points?

Business award booking for 3. Email from QF - cancelled and no other services. Log in to manage my booking to view your options (none) including a refund.
Unsurprising - now to see if I can keep my onward SIN- Europe legs and get some points back, sadly that’s going to need the call centre lottery I suspect.

Maybe try using the [email protected] email? I have onward SIN-Europe flight I want to keep too

Just got the Qantas email logged in. Nothing the same day but as luck would have it the day prior was Qantas a330 biz class 3 seats available so all booked. Leaving singa day early but happy with that as tail end of long holiday. Cant believe Qantas gave up 3x biz class for $88 each and 75k points.

I had Qantas business available for 3 pax day prior but works for us

Had business rewards booked for the Dubai portion (onwards to London) and the schedule change has meant my London flight is now the next day... Been on hold for 30 mins so far to see what they can do about it...

It seems the DXB-SIN-DXB flights will continue, with new flight numbers. That means still good availability ex-SIN for any one who has positioned there on way to UK/EU.

Looks like award ticket holders are out of luck.
Looks to me like award tickets *are* covered?

They’d be issued on 081 stock. The only condition is that they cannot be held in credit… but should be available to be rebooked in the same or lowest available class. So if you held the award class, you could end up in J, D or C.

Given the scarcity of award seats, it might only impact a couple of seats on each flight. Although those will likely affect subsequent award seat availability, or the ability for plats to request the release of award seats.

Come to think of it… it was business class on a 777… i wonder how many business awards were actually booked? First class would be an available via SYD on the QF1/2.

Do award seats have to be available to be rebooked?

Doesn't look like they'll open up award seats on Qantas flights under this policy. Or am I misreading it?

It says if the class booked is not available, you can book the next lowest class. So if the award bucket isn’t available, they can move you to J or D class for example… whatever is the lowest remaining business class fare bucket.

If the first award inventory is not available, they can accommodate you in F or A, or whatever else is the lowest fare bucket for F.

Given the time until departure, there should be plenty of seats available to accommodate.

But that means business class being rebooked into economy class if there's no U class, right?

For reference for those in a similar boat, I just had my classic rewards (business - SIN to MEL) flight rebooked over the phone to a QF flight on the same day.

There was no classic rewards available online for the day when I looked and I wasn't given any available options for the same day to change my flight online (did have access to previous day, however that didn't work for us).

No, it means that unless there are no more seats available for sale in the Business cabin then a seat will be made available. If it is J1 then that J become a U.

Have you looked at a different date?

My wife is in F and I am in J, there does appear to be an option on the 'change flight' on QFF to change from SIN-MEL to SIN-DXB-MEL in both F & J but this a generic error appears? Has anyone had any luck?
