EK406 is delayed for the second consecutive day with takeoff on 12 September at 0830 from MEL suggesting AKL arrival at 1334 this afternoon, 49 minutes late.

On Wednesday 13 September, EK404 should arrive MEL at 0841 hours, 51 minutes late with A380 A6-EDR.

For the third consecutive day, EK406 from MEL across to AKL is late with takeoff at 0829 meaning suggested arrival at 1328 hours, 43 late.

Thursday 14 September sees the normally timely EK415, first of the morning at a timetabled 0600 departure from SYD for DXB not having taken off until 0840 with A380 A6-EOC. Arrival is suggested as 1610, exactly two hours tardy.

On what has been a day of strong winds in SYD and consequent single runway (east-west) operation for much of the day, EK414, the infamous television-featured 0215 hours from DXB that today took off late at 0311 looks to be arriving at a touchdown time of 2305 hours in SYD, post curfew. Aircraft is A390 A6-EET.

These arrivals normally require a dispensation from the Minister for Transport's delegate.

On Monday 18 September, windy conditions in MEL in the morning have thus far not led to many delays but EK404 from SIN is expected to arrive at 0824, 34 late as at 0756 it was in a hold slightly to Bendigo's east. Aircraft is A380 A6-EOW.

UPDATE: Expected arrival has become 0837.

EK406 is again expected to be tardy on Tuesday 19 September with MEL arrival at 0615, 50 minutes late. This will again delay the 0710 hours scheduled 'tag flight' from MEL across to fuel-starved AKL.

Wednesday 20 September has EK418, the redeye from BKK down to SYD (A380 A6-EEH) arriving 38 late at 0818 hours.

EK412 (0750 hours from SYD to CHC) did not take off until 0850 hours. A380 A6-EUG should arrive at 1325, half an hour tardy.

EK406's 'tag flight' is a frequent late runner as its operation is dependent upon arriving on time from DXB, which is far from an everyday happening.

On Thursday 21 September A380 A6-EDM on this 0710 hours scheduled departure was airborne at 0818. Arrival has been delayed by 45 minutes to a forecast 1330, but this should not affect punctuality of the retrurn flight (notwithstanding the ongoing lack of fuel problems AKL is experiencing.)

The super early start (check-in from 0200!) EK409 on Saturday 23 September, the 0500 hours MEL - DXB (B773ER A6-ECW) took off at 0538 and is predicted to reach the Middle East major centre at 1330, half an hour behind the timetable.

The early morning Monday 25 September 2017 failure of the SYD airport radar at around 0520 hours has badly affected domestic flights but those bound for beyond our shores are also affected.

The early morning 0600 hours SYD - DXB, EK415 (A380 A6-EDD) was airborne at 0804 so arrival in the Middle East will occur at around 1514, 64 late.

Media ('The Age', 'SMH' is reporting on Thursday 28 September (mid evening) that a worldwide fault with Amadeus Altea software means passengers are unable to check in. I do not have a list of which airlines use this software, but EK may, as EK407, the scheduled 2125 hours from MEL to DXB is showing as delayed by 50 minutes in its departure.

A380 A6-EUI on EK412, the 0845 hours Monday 2 October SYD down to CHC took off at 1011. Expected arrival is 63 minutes behind schedule at 1453.

On Tuesday 3 October, EK404 (A380 A6-EUC, a SIn - MEL overnight) is arriving at a predicted 0924 hours, 34 minutes late.

Wednesday 4 October sees EK404, the SIN - MEL redeye likely to arrive at 0929, 39 late with A380 A6-EOT.

The DXB - BNE EK434 is far worse with A5-EDP, also an A380, having taken off from DXB at 1451 on Tuesday 3 despite a timetabled 1035 hours pushback. Resultant arrival in the Sunshine State is predicted for 0952 hours, 207 minutes behind schedule. This flight then has a second leg from BNE across to AKL, so arrival at the latter is unlikely to be any earlier than 1725 late this afternoon, which would be three hours late.

EK435 from AKL to BNE is timetabled to depart at 1810 hours so it will be at least an hour late departing this evening, as may the 2100 hours BNE - DXB far longer second sector this evening.

EK406 (0810 second sector from MEL to AKL, Sunday 8 October, A380 A6-EEK) took off at 0915, so arrival has been put back to a predicted 1428, 43 late.

In further on Sunday 8 October, MEL had a thunderstorm at about 1940 in the early evening. Many flights have been delayed, with EK407 (A6-EEK as above) likely to arrive at 2142 hours, 52 late, as it has been in a holding pattern above Mt Baw Baw, Vic on its AKL - MEL journey. This will delay the next sector to DXB.

EK412, the Sunday 8 October 1015 hours DXB - SYD did not take off until 1158 hours with A380 A6-EUK. Arrival on Monday 9 is suggested as 0810 hours, 70 minutes tardy. The second sector (0845 hours SYD down to CHC) should be able to leave at around 0950 if all goes well.

On Tuesday 10 October, EK434 (1035 hours DXB - BNE on Monday that took off at 1210, A380 A6-EEO) should arrive 45 minutes late at 0710 hours.

EK434 (0810 hours on a rainy Sunday 15 October from BNE across to AKL, A380 A6-EDZ) took off at 0920. Arrival should be at about 1513, 48 late.
