Emirates Delays/Cancellations

EK434 (BNE - AKL) is again delayed, this time on Tuesday 17 October with takeoff at 0942. Predicted arrival is 1542, 77 late for A380 A6-EEM.

The DXB - BNE EK434 (A380 A6-EEG) should arrive at about 57 minutes late at 0722 on Thursday 19 October, as it took off from DXB 81 minutes after scheduled departure time of 1035 hours yesterday.

The BKK - SYD overnight EK418 should arrive on Saturday 21 October at 0941 hours, 41 minutes late. A6-EDB is the A380.

Thursday 26 October has EK406 (0810 hours morning MEL - AKL, A380 A6-EDE) not having become airborne until 0927. Arrival in the NZ non-capital harbour city should be at 1427 this afternoon, 42 minutes behind schedule.

Sunday 29 October sees EK418 (A380 A6-EUF) from BKK to SYD likely to arrive at 0956 hours, 56 minutes tardy.

A6-EOT on the SIN - MEL redeye EK404 is arriving at around 0922, 32 minutes behind time.

Much later on 29 October, EK420, the 0255 hours DXB - PER that took off at 0410 hours (A380 A6-EEP) should arrive at 1932 hours, 47 minutes behind schedule.

The DXB - MEL EK406 (A380 A6-EDP) due into MEL at 0630 hours on Melbourne Cup Day (with Emirates a major sponsor) diverted to SIN, taking off from there at 0104 this morning and arriving MEL at about 1038. The 'tag flight' on to AKL is expected to depart at about 1220 instead of 0810 hours.

EK434 (1025 hours Monday 13 November that was in the sky at 1130, A6-EEK, an A380) from DXB to BNE should arrive on Tuesday 14 at 0722 hours, 42 minutes late.

The oft-delayed EK406 (0810 hours MEL - AKL, A380 A6-EDE) was airborne at 0930 hours on Saturday 17 November 2017, so expected arrival is 1447 this afternoon, 52 minutes behind schedule.

The mid evening Friday 24 November 2017 storms in and around Melbourne led to many delays with EK405 (1845 hours MEL - SIN, A380 A6-EOV) taking off at 2009; arrival should be at 0041 hours on Saturday 25, 66 minutes late.

On Friday 8 December 2017, EK412 (A380 A6-EUK) from DXB down to SYD should arrive at 0730 hours, half an hour late. It has picked up a little time as it took off yesterday at 1122, 67 minutes after its scheduled 1015 hours departure.

Fog in DXB has led to many 24 December 2017 diversions and delays. As one example, EK412, the 1015 hours DXB - SYD took off at 1640. A380 A6-EUG should arrive on Christmas Day at 1242, 342 minutes late. This flight normally then operates a 'tag flight' to CHC.

Also on 25 December. the DXB - MEL EK406 should arrive at 1115 hours, 285 minutes late. The 0810 hours MEL - AKL 'tag flight' will be unable to depart until at least 1300 hours.

EK434 from DXB down to BNE should arrive on Christmas Day at 1017 rather than 0640; as it also then normally proceeds to AKL, that second sector's 0825 hours departure is unlikely to occur prior to 1200 'high noon.'

The DXB - SIN - MEL EK404 is showing as arriving MEL at 1026 on 25 December, a little more than an hour late but this elies upon a stay of under an hour in SIN, probably unlikely.

Delays that can be traced back to fog in DXB are continuing. On Christmas Day, the usually punctual EK407 that has about five hours' layover timetabled in AKL, the 1850 hours ex NZ took off at 2203. Arrival for A380 A6-EDP should be at about 2340 hours in MEL< 170 minutes tardy.

EK appear to be having a very hard time processing EK434 and EK435 in the time allocated in BNE.

Over the past week from FR24, it would appear that the BNE ground crew is taking about an one hour more on average that the 1:45 time allocated. This is compounding any other delays EK are experiencing at the moment.

Yesterday, EK435 arrived 138 minutes late into BNE and departed 226 minutes late (possibly weather related). This morning, EK434 arrived 21 minutes late and departed 74 minutes late (no rain this morning).

Does not bode well for an on time departure of EK435 from BNE this evening...

EK418, the 1930 hours BKK - SYD on Wednesday 10 January took off at 2102 hours with A380 A6-EEO. Arrival on Thursday 11 should be at about 0951 hours, 51 minutes tardy.

Saw an Emirates 777 coming in to land as we were going to work this morning, which is not the usual timing for EK into Glasgow. FR24 tells me this was Sunday's EK27, which diverted to Newcastle presumably due to yesterday's snowfall here, repositioning to GLA. Sunday's EK28 return to DXB now scheduled to depart GLA as EK8028 today at 1030, 21.5 hours late.

On Friday 9 March 2018, EK418, the Thursday 8 1930 hours BKK - SYD that may have a few 'refugees' from the 10 hour late QF24 should arrive with A380 A6-EDC at roughly 1020, 80 minutes late.

A380 A6-EOD had an 'unlucky' start to its Tuesday 13 March morning with this 0600 hours scheduled EK415 SYD - DXB flight not taking off until 0918. Arrival is forecast for 1557 instead of 1320, or 157 minutes late.

On Easter Saturday (31 March 2018), EK408 from DXB down to MEL should arrive 34 minutes late at 2354 hours with A380 A6-EEQ.
